Yes standard warranty is now 2 years on manufacturer defects. Preferred care warranty will cover accidental screen breaks, lost or stolen etc.

Thanks! I didn't read the fine print and assumed Preferred care covered the second year as well as my accidents. Interesting that they're charging $30 more for it this year when it doesn't cover the hardware. Interesting, but not surprising.
 
so I got home today my phone was waiting on my table I was awesome I sit down clean the area I working in. I'm like so I'm like put a screen protector on so I wash my hands start to unwrap my phone and start to clean all lint and like there is one big piece of lint I can't get i was WTF phone so I look further into and of course it's a either pint or a bubble on my screen 😑 so guess who back on the chat until my replacement comes in

I know its hard to on camera but that dot to right of my thumb is the bubble and when the screen is off its highly noticeable

Mine just "shipped" 20-30 minutes ago or, more accurately, the label was created, lol. Kind of a bummer though because, while it only shipped a day later than planned, it's very likely I won't see it until Monday. Although Ontrac does make deliveries on Saturdays, so who knows.
 
they also refunded my shipping due to it going out late it shipped out ground when it should have gone air suggestion for anyone who has had to wait they will refund your extra shipping cost
 
ordered on oct 5th pixel 2 xl 64g black unlocked. Says will ship on oct 25th. no movement, still able to cancel, no cc charge yet. customer service is beating around the bush :(

Provided Ontrac doesn't mess it up like it has for others here, it might work in your favor. Mine shipped out this afternoon via FedEx and won't arrive until Monday because of the weekend blockout. Hope you get it this weekend!

True. Ontrac could mess it up. That's about the only thing they're pros at, lol. I dated a girl that did route planning for them and I could tell you all kinds of crazy stuff that some of those drivers have done. In truth, when I saw who the carrier was, my heart sunk, lol.

I just saw this at the Preferred Care page. I wonder if they just haven't updated it since last year?

Device malfunctions
All devices sold in the U.S. and Canada come with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty to cover device malfunctions that occur through no fault of the owner. Preferred Care from the Google Store provides similar coverage for the second year.

If your device malfunctions in the first year after you bought it, call Google:
Contact Google if you’re a Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL customer
Contact Google if you’re a Pixelbook customer​
If it malfunctions from normal wear and tear in the second year, visit mydeviceprotect.com or call Assurant at 877-406-4372.​

I think that since they still sell OG Pixels, the verbiage sort of refers to both, without clarifying the differences between devices.

This is obscene. How is it possible that nobody even knows where it is when it was supposed to ship 3 days ago? I've had 4 different people from Google now tell me that they're looking into it for me, and not a single one ever gets back to me with any kind of information.

Just say... "Hey, ya know what? We're not sure where it is. We're going to send another one overnight tonight. Sorry about that."

Why is this so hard? Unbelievable.
 
I tell you one thing... I still debate if I made the right decision in cancelling my order on my Storm Trooper a couple days ago...but ultimately I know for myself ordering ANYTHING, and having to click and search and call about "when is my item shipping" from any company...is just worth it, to me. I ordered the Essential Phone on Monday or Tuesday, I received a "it's on its way" e-mail with FedEx tracking Thursday, and the phone will be here by Halloween. If the phone is complete garbage, and full of bugs and what have, so be it...but man...for $1K a POP, Google needs to do a Way better job of handling their inventory, pre-order and online ordering processes & procedures. Ultimately, there IS a Pixel 2 XL in my future, I'm sure of it, just from pure curiosity, and the desire of the best software experience for me......but that won't be until I can order the device, and receive the device in no more than 10 - 12 days of ordering the device.

** Side Note: my initial order was made on October 5th...my ship date was November 27th, and the alleged delivery date was November 30th. Google Store. I mean, doesn't Google already KNOW I'm impatient as a FuthaMucka
 
finally lost my option to cancel and have been charged so hopefully I get a shipping notification today
 
I have had the phone for under 24 hours so not completely used or set up yet, but so far it is amazing, takes great pictures and screen looks great. It was worth the wait.

Yay! I ordered a P2 XL 64 unlocked on the 13th with a shipping date of 10/29 and the cancel/change address buttons disappeared this morning. I originally ordered a P2 on 10/5 so I've been waiting quite a while for something to happen.
