Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Pre Order / Shipping Discussion

My Pixel 2 XL black 64g ship today instead of the 24. It was promised to be deliver by the 26 or 27 of Oct. Guess what? They did a two day delivery and it will be here Monday LOL. This has been the worse experience for a customer like me ever. I contact CS 3 times today went beyond to help me, but she only gave me a 25 dollar Play Store credit. Sunday im going on vacation so I won't get to play with my new phone until I come back :(

At least you got a credit... I've gotten nothing and still don't have a tracking number, and have a phone in my hands that's dying a not so slow death.
 
Whats more ridiculous thing about this shipping dilemma is that my free Google chrome cast giving to me free by Youtube TV ship also late yesterday and its coming today (overnight delivery) LMAO!!!! They are just messing with me now.
 
What's really funny is that all this is perfectly normal. The same all the way back to the Galaxy Nexus for me.
 
Just chatted with Google CS about my order which was suppose to ship out yesterday. They said they are experiencing some shipping delays but said my order was still on track to be to me by my stated order window which ends on Monday 10/30. I can wait so no big deal and we will just wait and see if they are telling me the truth.

My 2 XL is finally out for delivery, after them shipping it ground for some reason. They did refund the expedited shipping I paid for and gave me a $25 play store credit, so that helps. That was for missing their delivery estimate.
 
Checked last night, cancel option still available. Woke up this morning and got shipped email from Google. So I wouldn't take too much out of the cancel option. What's odd though was I also ordered a XL2 as well, which hasn't shipped. Both were ordered on the same day/time.pixel2.jpg
 
It's just swell that all these orders that were made 2 weeks after my order was placed for the exact same product have shipped while mine hasn't.

Panda was supposed to ship the 23rd. Nothing yet. Black XL was supposed to ship yesterday. CS has been all over the map. I've been told both are "in process". One guy told me that meant they had been transferred to the warehouse and should turn up as shipped imminently. Checked again, was told again "in process". I was transferred to the shipping dept, who confirmed "in process", but this time told me that meant nothing insofar as shipment.

The best thing is how 5 different reps said "we are very excited for you to get your device and doing everything we can to ship as soon as possible". Almost verbatim. A few other less entertaining phrases were also included about how popular the device is and shipping is backed up due to the high number of orders. Like really? They aren't staffed for the number of orders they themselves had committed to filling by any given date?t
So yes, CS has a script.

They should simply state that their supply chain isn't keeping up with the promised volume. Obviously, they offered shipping dates upon order based on your place in the order queue against the number of units expected by that date.

I mean, really, they can't ship faster than their supplier delivers units. That part of it is out of their hands.
 
Has anyone that ordered a panda through verizon seen a shipped notification yet? I am getting mine through work, expected 11/1, and cannot see any notifications pertaining to it. Im not sure any pandas have been spotted in the wild have they?

Customer service uses scripted responses for most things. the "very excited" bit is no doubt a scripted response.

This is absolutely nothing new for Google's phone launches. Happens every single year. Verizon orders seem to get priority though. last year my OG Pixel was in my hands a day before the official release date, and it seems that may have occurred again for some people this year.

I ordered the exact same phone on the same date and had a ship date of Oct 30 and arrival of Nov 1-2, and I got a shipping notificaiton today as well, though it's still in "Label Created" status. Delivery is now supposed to be Oct 30-31.

I hope you get yours before the weekend.
 
Last year there was the same problem with ship dates for the Pixel XL. I ordered with Verizon on Oct. 21, 2016 and wound up cancelling the order with them after I ordered with the Google Store on Nov. 21st, 2016. I wound up receiving that order and Verizon's order was still in limbo. Don't count on Verizon to deliver before the Google Store unless something has radically changed from last year.
