Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Pre Order / Shipping Discussion

I think we can blame Google for our order status page saying it'll ship yesterday with no progress and stuck at the "ordered" status. Their system should at least know which orders have been fulfilled.

Well..... A lot of supply chain things are different. FedEX Has to go to the google factory location and collect the phones and process them. If the FedEx truck gets full on the first round then that's not necessarily googles fault that could be FedEx screwing up or not sending enough trucks. Also, googles shipment status updates are probably automated to turn to ship when someone scans the pallet that the phone is on. It's usually the fedex dude scanning this stuff.
 
Mine is arriving in the next couple hours. As long as my mum answers the door and takes the delivery (I've warned her a parcel is coming) I'll be able to see my shiny new phone when I arrive back from work :)

That is why I said if they all shipped the same day then it isn't their fault. As in if Google hands it to the carrier -- they did what they were supposed to do. If the carrier didn't move it (such as FedEx) that is not their fault. They can't control FedEx. They use their services just like we do.

If they were supposed to ship and didn't then yes, of course, that is their fault.
 
Just received an email from Google saying my order has shipped. When I open tracking the order shipped yesterday and it's already on truck for delivery today. (Just as the FedEx delivery manager said )
 
Apparently what shows up in Google's system is not what's displayed on the order status page. The rep via phone support said mine will be delivered the 18th or 19th, but the website says 19th or 20th. She checked with the shipping team and they confirmed it should be delivered today or tomorrow. Will update if/when I get it.
 
There is def something wonky going on with Google's system. I got my shipped email while I was out on my morning run, and all the information was from yesterday. Apearantly it's out for delivery by 1500 today.
 
I just got off of the phone with them. The rep said it had been shipped, however the order page on the website still shows nothing. She said it should still be delivered by the 21st (hopefully).
 
Anyone with an Ontrac delivery show any status that it's on a truck out for delivery yet? Mine just shows the time it arrived in Ontario and then "data entry" .... Ontrac is horrible. I hope it truly arrives today like their service commitment time says.
 
i guess i'm happy for those getting their phones now. but i keep waiting for someone to start a "panda support" thread for those of us that have to wait another 5 weeks or more. :) i've never waited this long for an order of anything.

amen to that!!!
 
Fedex notification says mine is also in vehicle for delivery today. With the shipping address mixup, I hope they will leave the package at the Management/Leasing Office and do not send it back. (The address that Google shipped to is actually the exact address of the Leasing Office anyways.)

I just got done with a live chat with Google Play support. I was transferred to a Shipping and Refunds specialist. He was checking on my order, and pretty much the best he could tell me is that my estimated shipping date is 10/17/17. Great! Thanks! He says he is researching my order and will update me when he can. He said it would be better if we communicated with me via email.

I asked him what was it about my order that made it so mysterious. He said there's nothing wrong with my order, but they're working very hard to deal with a whole lot of orders.

The email I received said "I've escalated your case to our product specialists, and we'll follow-up with you in the next 1-2 business days."

Needless to say, I am somewhat miffed...

I'm one step past that. After "Data Entry", it now shows "PACKAGE RECEIVED AT FACILITY Oct 18 2017 6:30AM MONTEREY". I also says it should be delivered today. Black 128g
 
Card was charged last night around 930p, just refreshed my Fedex delivery manager and it shows label created and has standard overnight, with scheduled delivery tomorrow.

64gb XL black, ordered via verizon app 10/4 about 430p
 
I have my Pixel 2 XL in hand. Downloading apps as I type this. I ran home from work to get it and forgot to grab the damn SIM card, so I will have to activate it tonight.
