Google Pixel 3 / 3 XL 2018

Hopefully you're right. But I don't think a search giant has the same sex appeal as the creator of iPods and Macs.
Quite possibly. If they can keep up the hype over camera quality and get some good designers in. I coveted the P2XL. Even though it was a big ask paying £56 a month contract with O2 I have managed it and I love my phone to bits. It hasn't disappointed me at all.

I gave my son a 2nd hand OG Pixel XL recently and he described it as pretty much perfect. He loves it so much. Google has brand recognition like Apple and they just need to translate it into products and sales. Then they could reach that status in a few years. If the P3 sux then they may have trouble unless the P4 comes back innovative and competitive.

I like all your suggestions but one. I still prefer the finger print sensor in the rear as it feels super natural to me when unlocking the phone.
So there have been codenames leaked for the Google Pixel 3 phones, Crosshatch and Wahoo. Unclear of which is the Pixel 3 and which is the 3 XL as of yet, still very early days.

While I think the Pixel 2 / 2 XL were excellent phones, they were obviously hammered by the media and fans for different issues - the mediocre screen quality and poor calibration of the 2 XL's screen and the large bezels of the 2. I think Google really need to spend more time on design and really spend more time focusing on creating beautiful hardware.

Here's what I'd like to see with their next phones:

- Small bezels for the Pixel 3, something akin to what a 2018 phone should be and reduce the bezels even further on the XL. Yes they have dual front facing speakers, but to be honest, other phones sound better with a bottom firing speaker and have better designs.
- Screen no larger than 5.5" for the Pixel 3, 6" again for the 3 XL.
- Move to a Samsung AMOLED screen or move to an LCD screen. I don't believe LG could have fixed up all the issues with their OLED screens in one year, don't want another mediocre screen on their flagship in 2018.
- A secondary camera either with wide-angle or optical zoom.
- A much nicer physical design - get those HTC employees coming up with something special. I still think the Pixel phones are ugly and I have never liked that glass window at the back. it serves no purpose and IMO looks ugly.
- In-screen fingerprint scanner.
- Having one manufacturer for both phones so they don't have different design cues like the 2/2 XL have.
- Remove the plastic coating on the back of the phone; if you're going to build a metal phone, have it feel like metal.
- Get rid of the rounded corners of the screen. I don't know why but I just don't like them at all.
- All the usual internal improvements, Snapdragon 845, 4-6gb ram, larger battery yadda yadda yadda.

So what would you like to see with the 3 & 3 XL?

I agree with you on the fingerprint sensor. The rest of the suggestions aren't happening on the 3 series. I don't envision much happening on the 4 either except I could see a secondary camera being added .

Which is where the problem lies. This is why the majority of the pixel advertisements focus on how the device enhances "moments" and makes life easier. It'll take years and years to establish the loyalty and consumer pull of Apple. But from the outside it looks like they're heading in the right direction, when related to consumer behaviors.

I had the same exact thought yesterday when I saw that photo. Not bad at all

Yeah, I don’t know if google is letting this leak so people can warm up to the notch. It won’t be for everyone but I’m still on board

It would be nice to see a better picture of the white. So far the black looks better as far as contrast between the two glasses. The white doesn't look as good in photos but we haven't seen great photos.

I agree. If those are the only two color options, I will be getting the black. Haven’t seen anything pointing to another panda type version so I guess unless we get a surprise we won’t have it

I don't know why that can't offer an additional color option. Two isn't much.

I agree especially when other manufacturers can push out 3 even 4 colors. I believe the price point will be close to 900 for the base model, 50 bucks more than the P2XL. Maybe there are some surprises in store.

that notch is not bad looks similar to my 1+6
we see as we get closer ...I was going to upgrade my s9+ to the note 9 but holding off until I see more phones by end of the year

I'm glad I don't have to choose between the Pixel and the Note. They are two different animals and if was interested in both it would not be easy.

I totally agree...I was saying to myself the only thing I'd be missing is the s pen and little bigger battery , but I like the boxy look and the only phone I financed was s9+ and to go to the note they want 279.00 tmobile downpayment.
