Google Pixel 3 / 3 XL 2018

No man.... we are here to help you get through this.
Try paying with cash. Paying with cash is more painful than paying with credit cards or payment plans.

I always pay cash , it's the wife that uses the credit cards ((
The s9+ is the only one I didn't pay in full

Yea, I want to stay on the Pixel, but that notch and smaller battery are downers... the wireless charging will help.

It's just a touch smaller

Mike, I got my hands on the pix 3xl it has the notch,8gb ram 6.2 screen
I'm sorry it my 1+6 😂😂
Pix 3 xl and the 1+6 look similar in the front

That notch is just as big. You got the same notch for less.....that's cool😅😅😅😅

Hahaha. ..true
So are you going for pix3 or waiting until next one ?

Temptation is too great to wait though I'm not all in yet. Because of the two year warranty I really feel like I should wait however I'm concerned about what battery life might be like by the time the 4 rolls around and the resale value will be a factor.
A part of me says I should sell the 2XL before the 3XL rolls out and use my V20.

Saw another leak that confirms the screen size for the 3XL as 6.7". For perspective, The screen alone is roughly the size of the ENTIRE 2XL. Haha! I have large hands so it's a beautiful thing but I can see the 3XL being a bit large for many! This might explain the larger jump in size for the 3, To appeal to..Who the hell knows anymore.

Russian website have posted a full review of the Pixel 3 XL.

Of course this is a test model phone (with pre-release hardware/software but still gives us an idea of what to expect.

The reviewer does say that this is a very iterative update over the Pixel 2 XL. Says it's the same device as last year's, and is very predictable and boring.

I can see where the boring can come in, there really is no real WOW factor with this device. I’m sure software wise it will be fluid, smooth and everything we expect from a pixel but it is safe.

Very conservative, very iterative update it seems, at least on the hardware end. Software could be different on launch day, but the leaks don't even have any new software features does it? Anything unique to the Pixel 3?

Don't know if it's been discussed yet but:

"According to Mobile-Review, the Russian blog that has delivered an extensive Pixel 3 XL review well before the phone launched, the Pixel 3 will cost $649, while the Pixel 3 XL will be just $100 more expensive"

https://bgr.com/2018/08/23/pixel-3-xl-price-vs-2018-iphone-x-vs-pixel-2-what-we-know/

That is a fantastic price point!!
Would be nice but I don't think that'll happen.

The Pixel 2 XL retailed for $850, I expect the 3 XL to retail for the same or more.

$750 would soften the blow a little and would make a bit more sense considering the hardware you get for it. $850+ for the 3 XL is nuts imo.

Also one thing I really don't get with the phone is Google's insistence on making the selfie camera the best they can possibly make it while seemingly ignoring the rear camera.

If they were all about doubling down on software and letting that do all the heavy lifting, then why not have a single front facing camera too? Seems like they know a secondary lens is beneficial in *some* way, which is why they added a second front camera, yet they aren't willing to put a second rear camera and have the rear photography improved like the front will be. This is baffling to me.

I don't get who their target audience for this phone is - Instagram users?

More true than not. Google is making it clear that their Target audience is NOT the spec hungry Android fanatics.

Indeed. I read Andrew's article yesterday and I think he sums things up with the pending 3 XL fairly well..

"The Pixel 3 XL you see here is, for the most part, what we can expect to see officially in October. That means it's once again a Google experience, just like the Pixel 2 XL, and not fighting for the attention of the power users and folks who choose their phone based on specs."

As it shouldn't 😀
