Google Pixel 6/Pro - just over the horizon?

My dream has been for a Sony Google Pixel. I still kinda miss my Xperia Z2.

I had the Z3 which was Sony’s last phone on T-Mobile and the reps took a picture with me and everything cause I think I was the first Sony purchase. But that phone was so solid and the battery life was crazy good. A Google Pixel with Google’s auto hdr algorithms and Sony’s pro camera apps and hardware features (headphone jack, front firing stereo speakers, expandable memory) would send me right into heaven.lol Sony’s so stubborn when it comes to auto processing however I respect them for not following the trends of other manufacturers.

You're missing my point. I know that 18w will be supported but no P6 buyer should be OK with just using old 18w chargers that they have laying around. It's like BMW selling a new car and charging extra for A/C or cruise control. The decision makes Google look cheap.

That's not even close. It's the equivalent of not including free gas with your BMW. Your BMW will work just fine with any new gas you put in it. Just like this phone will work with any type C charger you already have.

What in the drama queen are we doing here? You have been buying phones for decades. YOU HAVE A CHARGER. If you decide that Google is eveil for not including a charger, guess what? Samsung and Apple both don't include them. They are useless. They are wasteful, and completely unnecessary at this point.

Samsung Z fold 3 will include a USB -C cable but no brick , how crazy is that

Lol I remember when you used to get headphones, and a charging brick. Times are a changing now! Still I have so many chargers laying around I don't really need a new one. If I do need a slightly faster one I can grab one from Anker or something. Hopefully Google gives you a credit or something. usually whenever you preorder the Pixel you get some kind of "gift" later on in the form of Google store credit etc. If so, I'm using it on the pixel stand that is supposed to have fans or something. I haven't seen anything about it since June though so who knows if it is real or not.

I know it's not a deal breaker for most but the purported lack of a charging brick irks me. It also makes me chuckle a bit at how Google always finds a way to screw something up with every flagship release. Anyway my days of spending over $500 on a phone are over but I am still excited to see what future Pixel 6 owners will share about their experience with the device.

I agree, I'm not a fan of chargers not being included in the box - especially since my husband and I have a pension for losing chargers! But alas, I suppose that's the way the world is turning...

I have enough charging bricks so not a concern for me. But they should pass the cost they are savings from not included chargers to consumers. They are saving in making smaller boxes and less weight so there are shipping charges they are saving too.

This is just from my upstairs office drawer.i have another drawer like this downstairs too :)

I'd be surprised if they're saving more than a few dollars per unit on these, so the swing wouldn't be enough to make them go from a 'rounded' price of say $1100 to another tier at say $1050. But I agree, it would be nice. I imagine the savings Google nets from not including the charger is not as valuable as having a phone that a retail stores and sales reps know they can frequently push another accessory alongside. If Google truly wants to start to chip into marketshare, they'll need to address what motivates that front line of sales (and incentivize them with bonuses or 'spiffs').
