Google Pixel XL - Preorder /order/shipping thread

I have a shipment email from Verizon, but it only list 2 out of 3 phones, should I be worried?

32gb blue pixel - shipped
128 black pixel xl - shipped
128 black pixel - not on shipping email

It's a little maddening that Big Reds orders are shipping before Google's. I guess not being able to stamp the Verizon logo on these phones pissed them off and they just want these out the door so they never have to see them again

Ordered mine from Verizon. on the 13. Note 7 refugee. Still no charge to my card for tax, still shows as processing. But ship date remains the 20th. Getting kind of antsy seeing all these notifications people are getting. Black 128 gig

Was charged for my pre-order (Verizon, XL 128GB) last night, said I'd get tracking info, etc. Haven't gotten any tracking info, and my order says "Still Processing" without listing a ship date. What gives?

I don't understand why people keep talking about update times. They have already said the pixel's will update the same time. Meaning either way verizon will be holding up the process. Also once you put a verizon sim in the phone you will get the bloat (only 3 apps). So my questions is, at this point the bootloader is the only difference. Other then purchase options/shipping/payment/wait time, whats the difference?

Verizon isn't going to hold up the updates. Google will push the updates and anyone with an unlocked one will get them and supposedly the ones on Verizon will to. If they don't then Verizon is holding up their customers updates, not Google's. That's like saying carrier x is gonna hold up apples updates for everyone's phone. Not gonna happen. And as far as the 3 apps? Installing a sim card in the phone isn't going to install those apps. Verizon has released a bunch of apps for Nexus devices. I'm using some of them on my 6p right now. None of which loaded on their own lol. Not to mention with an unlocked bootloader even if Verizon would hold up the updates which I seriously doubt. Google will release the image and you could flash them on to the phone to update it that way.

Same for me from Verizon on the 13th with ship date as 20th and still says processing. Might help if people say what there preorder date was so we can compare.

Update:

Just got tracking information from Verizon. Ordered on 10/04, 7pm PST, Black Pixel 128GB, Next Day Air by 1030a.

Delivery set for tomorrow 10/19FullSizeRender.jpg

So, it seems that - once again - Google is screwing its most loyal customers, those who pre-order new devices from the Google Store, sight unseen.

When are Google Store orders going to ship???

Ordered via Verizon on 10/7 at 10:49 am EST. Black, 128 GB, XL. Next day delivery. Got confirmation of shipping today at 12:15 pm EST to arrive 10/19.

I'm hoping since Verizon ship dates r for tomorrow or the 20th and the earliest ones I've seen from the Google store r the 21st-24th we should soon start seeing shipping information tonight or tomorrow. But that's just my guess.

This all seems to be somewhat against what I have read.
First. several mods have posted that, yes nothing from verizon comes preloaded on the phone. But as soon as you put the vzw sin card in the phone updates and pushed (in this case we assume go90, my verizon and vzw message). So even if you get the phone via google, the same result. I bet that even the phones from verizon will arrive without those apps, until you activate the sim.

Second it has also been said and confirmed that all updates for the pixel will be pushed out at the same time. I don't believe you will see any delay. But what may happen is that behind the scenes after google is done, verizon may drag there feet delaying the update, then in a unified front you will see the update get pushed. So for example if this was a nexus device, and the update is done on 1-1-2017, then the update is pushed in 1-1-17. but now with verizon, it may go to them and be pushed back to 2-2-17. we wouldnt know because they will push out the unified update in 2-2-17.

I get the bootloader/rooting/roms part. The verizon verzion will not have this ability and if you are one to do this then the only recourse is unlocked. But what if google decided to nullify this by releasing all updates first thru the pixel. I assume the benifit of rooting/roming is to be able to flash it ahead of the update. but what if that didnt happen. I am sure flashiing for some people will have further benefits but that may no longer be one of them.

When are Google Store orders going to ship???

lets think about this logistically. Google is a great many things, but they are not a retail giant. Each person that orders a phone via google, need to have information entered, labels created, boxes to stuff and all that stuff.

Verizon already has your information. they already have stores/warehouses and all the stuff needed to process orders for many location and ship simultaneously. To google you are a single user end customer. Verizon is not those things.

BTW why do you think Google had more then one option for buying thru them. Probably to split orders naturally amoung staff without having to change supply channels.

Is this right, no. Will google get better. They better now that they have to kick the dirt off there new phone manufacturing company.

I think I will feel better when it shows up in ups system. Or when it leaves tn, or when it arrives in monroe, or when it shows out for del, or when i get home and its there, or when i am home chekcing the front door all day, or when it arrives and i can open it, or when i turn it on and start to get set up. Yes then I will feel better.

My Black 128GB Pixel XL has shipped from Verizon. I got the confirmation only about an hour ago.

This I definitely agree with you on lol. Will feel much better when I know it's been delivered and in my house lol.

Actually, Google does not do the shipping; they use an order fulfillment company to handle the dirty work.

And, in every Nexus release, the job was butchered badly. I have hopes that that will not happen again, but not holding my breath...
