Google Pixel XL - Preorder /order/shipping thread

I'm so done waiting on this phone. By the time I get it they'll announce the new Pixel. Verizon now has a new ship date of 12/26 and I had to call CSR dozen times to get at least that info. So from 11/11 I go to 11/26 and now to 12/26. WTF!? I have $300 discount from Verizon so I'll just go and get a damn iPhone 7plus. After all the Nexus phones I got in the last 5 years I can't believe I'll switch to iPhone. I think my Nexus 6P is also in disbelief seeing me typing this on it. Google and Verizon doing a launch of the phone together... I should have known better not to fall for it

Well, considering the black XL was in stock since last night around 5:30 p.m., you might have tried to get it a bit late. It's in and out of stock now, probably people cancelling orders because they're afraid of an unlocked phone. Keep watching.

I admit, I'm a bit concerned as well, that Verizon will give me a hard time activating it since I didn't get it from them. I know it will be fine, but still in the back of my mind.

Verizon activated my google store Pixel just fine. It wouldn't take the IMEI and SIM numbers together (system was throwing an error) but when they put in just the SIM number and then ran through the process it worked fine and activated normally.

If you have a sim from your current Verizon phone, you can pop that in and it will work. Apparently, as long as the sim card was activated with your number on a Verizon branded phone (in my case, an iPhone 7 Plus bought from Apple Store (Verizon model), you can just remove that sim and it will activate on the unlocked Pixel from the Google Store.

Verizon rep at a corporate store in Totowa, NJ was downright rude to me when I brought my Google Store Pixel in to activate. "We can't activate that phone because we can't fix it if something's wrong with it." What a moron...I asked for another rep and he activated it with the sim from my Verizon iPhone 7 Plus. I was so pissed off at the 1st rep, I was shaking...

Previous phone had a micro-SIM so I ordered a nano-SIM from Verizon and used that when I activated the phone. I didn't go to the store though, I used the chat on their website to have them do it.

Thanks. Apparently there are multiple ways to activate an unlocked Pixel on Verizon Wireless. Some reps just want to act stupid. By the way, the Asurion coverage (usually $10-11 dollars per smartphone) will not cover a non-Verizon phone. I had mine removed from my plan after I questioned a rep about this. No sense in paying $120.00 a year insurance for nothing. Get the Google coverage when you buy the phone or use SquareTrade.

I'm so excited right now, ordered my XL QB 128GB yesterday at about 5:45 PM from Google and it is already shipping!! I should have it tomorrow or Thursday... if you set up an in stock alert, they really work... I just hope this is a NEW phone and not a returned one that someone didn't like for some reason...

I know the feeling! Really happy I ordered the Pixel XL 128GB on Nov. 21 and had it in my hands on Nov. 25. Brand new!! You will love it.

Yes, I ordered from the Google Store on Nov. 21 and had the phone on Nov. 25.

I ordered 128 xl QB last night around 9pm. No shipping email yet, but did get a confirmation email... So I'm optimistic.
