Google Play Music not functioning

Recently I am having trouble with the Play Music app. I keep getting a message that it is shutting down, and then it shuts down. I don't generally even use the app, but I have started getting the message even when I am not aware that I am running it. I was recently experimenting with it because of recent updates, and it is totally unusable on my phone. It will start and then shut down within 15 seconds or so.

I saw other posts that recommended deleting data. I've tried that and still the same problem. I thought about deleting the entire app and reinstalling, but this seems to be a system app? Anyone else experiencing similar problems?

Just had the same thing start happening on my Razr Maxx, Rooted, with Eclipse 1.2 ROM. I have been using the music player everyday with no issues, then this morning it started giving me an error message stating that the app had quit working.

Tried reinstal from Titanium backup - no good
Tried deleting data - no good
Tried deleting all updates - no good
Downloaded WinAmp and it would not work with Bluetooth headphones so I ditched that
Downloaded double twist and that seems to be my solution. No issues now, but I have no idea why the stock app quit functioning.

Mine stopped shuffling my playlist. I chose "shuffle all," then it played Adele singing "Rolling in the Deep." Then it played Adele singing "Rolling in the Deep." I manually put it ahead, and it played Sheryl Crow singing "There Goes the Neighborhood." When that finished it played Sheryl Crow singing "There Goes the Neighborhood." You get the picture. I had to switch to the Samsung Music Player, but all my playlists are on Google Music Play, because it's so easy to make them by going to Google music online, then just dragging and dropping them. Does anyone know what to do about that?
