Google play music not working?

Hey guys. I've been putting a few GPS worth of music on my moto X and playing through n7 player and good play. However, I ran out of space, so I deleted my music on my phone, thinking I could just stream from the cloud since all that music was on my Google play through my computer.

However, the songs I deleted off my phone (but are still in Google play music and still on my computer) won't play. They say 'Google play music cannot play the track you requested.'

I cleared cache, deleted all music from Google play and Re uploaded it onto Google play, but that selected group of songs still won't play.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Google Play Music, and Clear Data. When you open it again, it should repopulate its database, and hopefully correct that glitch.

Thanks. I did that and it still didn't work. I Uninstalled updates to play music and. Didn't work.

I deleted and then re-uploaded my music on my computer to music manager but the songs h previously deleted on my phone still won't work.

Any suggestions?

I hate Google play and refuse to use it.

That's nice to know, but it doesn't help the OP.

When you say you deleted the music, are you saying you deleted your entire Google Music library using the option on the website, or did you just deleted selected tracks? If you didn't already, you could try deleting the entire library, then start from scratch. Of course, that's a bit of a hassle...

Did you also check settings to make sure you could stream over your data connection? Good luck either way!

This totally worked for me, and the music went from not playing at all to playing perfectly on my HTC One M8.

Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Google Play Music, and Clear Data. When you open it again, it should repopulate its database, and hopefully correct that glitch.

Hey! This might help you.

Yes, you can go to settings >manage app> google play music>clear data. An follow prompts after that carefully.

If the problem still exists it is because the music is the wrong format or the music does not exist any more in the SD card or wherever you music files are.

According to your problem, it looks like you have an SD card that is too Big for your phone. You have to get an SD card that suits your phone model. For example some phones are given that if it is 16GB internal storage, then internal must not exceed 32GB. If it is 8GB internal storage, then external storage can go up to 132 GB.

So if your player is not functioning check if you have the right storage for you phone model. If not the SD will keep on crashing!

I hope this helps!

Hey! Yes, you can go to SETTINGS>MANAGE APP>GOOGLE PLAY MUSIC>CLEAR DATA. Then follow prompt to accept option you made. Then close settings and re-open Google Play Music.

If the problem still exist, it may be because the music you try to play is not in the proper format. Format to mp3 for convenience sake.

If this is not the problem it means the music file does not exist at all wherever you have saved it.

FOR YOUR PROBLEM, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE USING A HIGHER EXTERNAL SD STORAGE FOR THE MODEL OF YOUR PHONE. Some phones have 16GB Internal Storage. This means that they can cater for any External SD Storage of 32GB and less. If the model has 8GB Internal Storage, then their made can cater for any External SD Storage up to 132GB only.

If you have a SD storage more than your phone model cab handle , the SD will keep on CRASHING. It is not the app, it is the size of the External Storage you are usibg.

Hope this helps.
