Google Play Music - uploaded tracks not appearing

Has to be a server issue. Last night I tried to upload a freshly bought cd. My upload was fine. For the wifes accout it said all 13 tracks were uploaded but only 6 were showing up on her tablet and none in the mothership. I tried uploading several times but those 7 missing tracks never appeared and same for the entire cd for the web library. I got frustrated and ended up deleting the tracks that were showing up. This afternoon the other tracks that never appeared on her tablet were there. Reuploaded those deleted ones without issue too.
 
I've also been having this same problem. I've had a music library for a few years that I've been fairly meticulous about keeping in order as far as tags go. However, when I started examining the tags for all the songs that were failing, I noticed that they had all been assigned "start" ratings, whereas the songs that were successfully uploading did not.

I just turned on the "labs" star rating feature in Google Play Music and all of the songs that were previously disappearing showed up. Hope that helps someone out there!
 
anyone ever find a real solution to this? it's 2 years later and i'm a musician and my mp3s of my test version of my new album, with all perfect id tags, is missing 2 songs after upload, even though it says it uploaded fine. i've noticed it do this before too, but today it's particularly annoying so i thought i'd look for a solution.

I have the same today, has there ever been a fix. I have the compilation issue ... Jess Glynne album and Now 90. One of the songs was already in the now 90 album, and when I uploaded the Jess Glynne album, the song that was in the now 90 album, will not appear in the Jess Glynne album ... very frustrating
 
I'm new to Google Play Music but have stumbled across this thread as I'm experiencing exactly the same issue as described two years ago.
The situation I'm currently attempting to fix:

An REM "best of album" that should have 18 tracks. All tags 100% correct, upload the album - tells me 18 tracks were uploaded.
Go into the album in my library and only 10 tracks are showing.
The missing tracks are all in other REM albums already uploaded to my library.
In other words - if the track already exists in my library, even though it is tagged to an entirely different album, it will not show up in the "best of" album.

Is there any way I can get around this?
I'm moving from Amazon music and that service didn't mess around like this. I notice 2 years ago in this thread people saying "I'm sure these issues will be sorted out". 2 years on and they don't appear to be.
 
Well - after spending even more time on this it's becoming obvious this product is not fit for purpose. For some reason it assumes you'll have a single copy of any given track and no matter what you do in an attempt to get around this, you just cannot upload a second. I'll assume it is something to do with the "match" facility, but as you have no control, no option to over-ride any of this, you are stuffed. I was trying to move from Amazon music, however as they do offer features that basically allow you to do anything - their service is a lot better than this one.
My latest issue:

Upload Oasis - Stop the Clocks. All tracks upload except one, Track 4 Lyla.
Already uploaded is Oasis - Don't Believe the Truth. Track 3 here is Lyla.

Tried totally renaming the track - so giving it a new file name, changing MP3 tags to something like "Track by Generic Oasis". Hoping I might be able to rename it once uploaded. Manager tells me it has uploaded, doesn't appear anywhere.

Deleted "Don't Believe the Truth" from the server and uploaded Stop the Clocks. Now all tracks are present and correct for Stop The Clocks including Track 3.
Now attempt to upload "Don't Believe the Truth" once more. Track 4, Lyla, missing.
There is no way that I can have both of these albums uploaded to my library, completed, because the system will now allow this single track to appear in two separate albums.
So that's me out - far too much time spent on this. Amazon may cost money....but at the end of the day it works.
Hopefully someone might come along and look into this issue for people in the future who will see this issue. My advice, pony up and go Amazon - 100x better service.
