Google Play won't update apps automatically or notify me

I haven't opened the Google Play app in at least 1 day. I haven't checked the Updates tab in the app in at least 4 days.

I have not received any push notifications of any updates. I have a strong suspicion when I open the Updates tab, there will be a long list of pending updates.

I was monitoring this on my own phones and didn't get notifications also, I would go in and see some that needed to update or refresh , I think have to try don't auto up date and see what happens

I have good news, the Updates tab says "Recently updated - 22 apps 19 hours ago." Currently pending apps for update is 14.

One app even says it was updated 20 hours ago.

I know my Google Play app opened once when I accidentally clicked an ad and it brought me to the Play store. I can't recall if that was yesterday around the time the apps auto updated.

I suppose the theory I'm proposing is if Google Play opens it could possibly trigger an auto update? I don't think it's likely.

I still have pending updates for today. I didn't manually click update.

Yeah it's supposed to automatically update without user doing anything in auto update mode , so you said some of them got updated which good

Yes, this is progress. Even if I don't get a notification, it appears I can count on the auto-update taking place at some point. That's all I really care about. It's still strange that I'm not getting push notifications.

I think it's safe to say it's working as intended. I'm still not getting notifications, but apps are updating automatically. They are at random intervals. I can't predict when they will be updated, but they are evetually being updated.

I just got a notification that an app was updating. It was during an automatic update. It goes away very quickly, and doesn't stay in the notification bar/history.
