Google, Samsung, Sprint investigate Nexus S Problems

There has been a fixed posted, but you have to root and install another kernel to use it. Idk if I'm willing to do that because of how powerful this phone is stock without me having to jump through hoops to get it to just work how it is supposed it out of the box...especially coming from the Palm Pre and EPic

A fix to the screen thing? Link please!

There's something fishy about this. Aren't updates to Android OS sent directly from Google (bypassing Sprint) on the Nexus?

Yes but if it's a problem with antenna/reception, they have to work with whatever carrier the phone is on to make sure it all works correctly.

I genuinely hope they get this fixed. I've been chomping at the bit to switch to Sprint for this phone...

The beauty of Sprint is you get 30 days no questions asked to demo the phone and the service. With Google Voice you can use any mobile number and it's no different. That makes it easy to demo the phone without canceling your current service. (One thing though, Sprint is currently offering a $125 credit if you DO port your number from another carrier but only for like 2 more days) So now is the best time to switch!!!

I was stunned when sprint said no charge for my 10 day trial.

the best buy cancellation was a pita: 20 mins in store; 90mins on phone with sprint when in store reps took 4 days to cancel my service.

only canceled when I had no service in my home. no back-up land line. :(

can we get some nexus v4 love on att?

from the road

What about the issue of the camera not having a zoom? That to me is a pretty essential item on a camera....

Yeah, I thought that was weird too. I just kinda figured that I was missing something, but then that couldn't have been it because I combed every inch of it. I hope that gets a fix, but that's not something I would trade the phone in for.

A zoom on any camera phone destroys the quality of every photo. Anytime your using digital zoom it will do that. Not needed on a phone.. If it had optical zoom then yeah, but digital is a waste. Plus you can just zoom after the photo is taken.

That being undenyably true, people do like the zooming thingy because it's convenient... so to each it's own.

Me, I do what I have always done since I started on amateur photography thirty+ years ago... I zoom with my feet since I almost always use primes on my dSRL. But that's a discussion that belongs on a different board.
