Google sync

I just watched my battery go from 90%-49% in about 45 minutes because Google is syncing everything. It does this almost every night. My phone gets super hot and becomes almost useless, like it's so busy syncing that it can't do anything else.

Is there a way to make it so it will only sync during charging? Or while in WiFi? Or anything I can do? Sometimes it'll do it in the morning, which sets me up for a low battery kind of day at work.

Help?

Also... Facebook is posting my pics sideways... Is anyone else having this problem?

I don't understand what's happening here....and also the Photos sync problem you mention in your other post. The only time I did a Factory Reset to fix a problem - battery drain on a Nexus 5 - it did not work, so I'm reluctant to suggest that in your case. Even so...?

It may also be worth trying Safe Mode, since that is so easy to do.

Thanks for the input... I'm thinking of a hard reset, I just hate doing it. When I got Lollipop, I ended up doing it twice. Things seem to be getting worse and worse with my phone. The syncing, as misbehaving etc. I don't get notified by app (such as this one!) now, I got an email.

I'm very frustrated...

Just a thought. Do you have a SD card? Maybe there's some corrupted file in there and your phone is having problem trying to sync.

So I ended up spending half of today doing a factory reset. I'm happy to report that it's solved most of the issues that I was having. Google Photos is behaving and pages are loading better, although still not as snappy fast as I know it's capable of. I have no idea what made my phone act like it was, but I'm seeing lots of apps that are quite different now.
