Google Voice Typing Issues (Bluetooth on car)

I have one very annoying problem where Google Voice typing will not type out my spoken words even though it's brought up the tap to pause screen with mic icon. Meaning it's ready to go to detect...

This is only while connected via Bluetooth in the car.

Because voice typing is looking for audio input from you, and you're connected to the car audio as a multimedia device, which means one way from the phone to the car audio. Maybe one day they'll make car audio systems that can send multimedia audio back to the phone, and phones that can receive multimedia audio from the car audio system.
