Do you have to tell the cashier it's a credit transaction before you tap your phone.
Nope. Just tap and go.

More like take phone out of case, wake up phone, unlock screen, launch app, enter code, activate, then hold close to NFC device, then go. Or something like that. And leave a trail for Google in the process.
So much easier, faster, and more convenient than pulling the card out of my wallet and swiping it in about 3 seconds...
Did it make it the orange card automatically? Mine's not doing that and I would like it to to make it easier to pick cards from first glance rather than staring at the number.

I have a quick question - will the extended warranties from teh Credit Card providers still work if I purchase through Google Wallet and am using Visa card behind the scenes?
From what I've read it doesn't since the transaction on your actuall credit card is only from Google, not the place you made the purchase.
This will probably be the next thing they need to work on so that people can get their card rewards and warranties.
Rooted, just updated and it still gives the "not yet available for your device or mobile network" crap. DAMN!:''(
