Got my Fascinate Preorder In at BB Mobile

I went into a Best Buy this afternoon and their cell phone department had no idea about the Fascinate pre-order, then I happened to be at the mall for dinner and saw that the Best Buy Mobile store had opened. After some searching through his email, the salesman found the Fascinate pre-order form with the Reward zone members starting the 27th and everyone else on the 29th.

Since I happened to be a Reward Zone member, I got a pre-order in. First name on the list at my local store, at 7pm. I am excited, even though the phone is technically for my wife, who is switching over from Blackberry.

I made the switch from BB to my HTC Incredible a few months ago, and I am loving Android.

Same experience here. The Best Buy staff had no clue about the RewardZone presale, but fortunately I had brought a printout with me of the press release. They looked it up in the system, found what they needed, and I'm #1 on the list.

I have to wonder if this launch is going the way it was supposed to. How many people are going to put down $50 on a phone when the carrier hasn't even announced a release date or a price, and there hasn't been any advertising?

The release date is all but official for the 9th (http://phandroid.com/2010/08/27/leaked-samsung-fascinate-equipment-guide-gives-full-spec-run-down/). My best buy actually knew what I was talking about and asked if I was a rewards zone member. Which I am, so I pre-ordered. BB sells the Vibrant and Captivate at $550 full price, and on contract I think they are the same ($199?). I'm sure the Fascinate will be the same.

Preordered mine yesterday. The store rep had to look it up on the computer, but it didn't take long. Now I just have to get my Storm2 unlocked and ready for eBay.

I got burned by BB on my last preorder (was number 6 on the list for the X, they only got 5) so I was quick to jump on this preorder. I really think this will be a better phone than X. If it is as slick as the Captivate and Vibrant, I will not regret it.
