Just search youtube there's a few videos on there that show some cool shortcuts.

One I just found is you can press and hold the recent apps button to bring up a small menu which includes settings, easier to get to one handed than reaching up to the notification shade and hitting the gear.

I've heard of people experiencing lag but don't have it myself. Try a factory reset and clear the cache on your apps

Activate developer options and change the animation scales to 0.5 or even 0

It made a difference in my G3 and G4

No lag on mine but I have a carrier free unlocked G4. Mine is working beautifully. Only thing I have noticed on mine is random touch sensitivity issues which I'm sure LG will address in a future update.
