Got my HTC Evo yesterday ask if you have any questions!

It's not great. You can only use it in certain areas like the web browser. Phil did a demo video of how it works a while back. But there is no copy and paste in email for example.

^ Thqt sucks! The Pre's copy & paste started out sketchy but works great now. I thought Android would at least be as good. :/

on my G1 you could copy and paste ANYTHING but that's because of the physical keyboard and the trackball.

OK, now that several people have had their EVOs for some time now, what do they think of the battery life? With 4G off, or rarely used, and with casual usage (i.e. browsing the web at lunch, some texting and email here and there, or similar), does this thing last a day? That is one of my few remaining concerns. My iPhone 3GS very rarely lasts until I plug it in at 10:30 at night (after unplugging it by 7:00 in the morning).

Hey... thanks for all the information. Some questions I haven't seen covered (apologies if I've missed them in the current 39 pages here):

Can the haptic feedback be turned off?

Can the Evo run without battery while plugged in? (i.e., to change the battery during a call)

I use my phone with Google Voice almost exclusively... my Pre never let me press "1" until several seconds into the call, rendering GV entirely useless. Can I press number keys on the Evo immediately upon answering the phone?

Thanks again for all the information. It's not like any of the above will keep me from buying the thing on Friday (I'm #2 at my Best Buy), just trying to determine what to expect. :-)

I just want to THANK all of you who already have the EVO and has shared so much information with us. You guys are great and I really do appreciate the time that you've taken to keep us informed. I'm so ready for the 4th to get here I don't know what to do - I know I won't be doing much at work when I do get there from picking up my EVO.

I am coming from a Pre and several other devices Android included, I will miss my Pre but I'm so ready to EVO.....

I have a question about the FM Radio. Is it possible to just use the 3.5mm plug and plug it in the phone to use it as an antenna? Then just put the phone on speaker mode to use the built in speaker?

Hey guys -

First off, thanks so much for taking the time to share your impressions/insight on this incredible device.

My ONLY QUESTION!

I had the Hero, and can't begin to explain how frustrating the Lag with the dialer was.

How is the dialer on the Evo? (and, I know you answered this already, but now that you've had more time with the device, how is it as a PHONE in general? Call quality, ease of use, etc).

Cheers and thanks so much

I'm sorry guys for not responding recently but I was away for the Memorial weekend and on Saturday actually while I was away some guy offered me $800 for my Evo which I just couldn't resist, so I wasn't able to respond as now I'm stuck using a Motorola Razor till Friday. Well anyway if you have more questions that I can answer please ask as most of hte stuff I have tested out otherwise now I'm waiting like the rest of you for Friday to pick one up.

For $800, I'd sell mine too. Congrats.

What I find puzzling is why would somebody pay $800 for something that they can get for $450 (or $500 including tax) in just a few days.

I believe Froyo (2.2) adds copy/paste to email.

Pre Headset Jack FAIL

I'll keep this short, since I could easily reach "TL;DR" status on this subject.

- I am on my 3rd (and about to be 4th) Pre.
- This is no fault of my own.
- Each time, the fail is because of the crappy headphone jack.
- This time, it thinks I still have a headset plugged in.. and I dont.
- This means that now, I have to either use my Bluetooth headset or else speakerphone until I can get a replacement

Question:

Has anyone that has an Evo already tried using and stress-testing the headphone jack? Could someone plug/unplug a pair of headphones a few times.. just to be sure that the phone doesn't break?

I've already decided I'm getting the Evo. I'm almost sure that this is only a Palm issue and the Evo will be fine. I just hope that someone here can ease my fear that the Evo's headset port might fail too.

Help??

Does The Music App Support Embedded Lyrics?

If the Evo Music App Supports embedded lyrics then that will be the final straw and I will make the switch from Pre to Evo. I love my Pre and have been using the the Music Remix app, since it will at least stream the lyrics from the Lyric Wiki, but I would much rather have a music app that can read/display embedded lyrics.

Anyone out there know if the standard music app/other music app supports embedded lyrics.

Oh, and also, does it come with SD Card at all, if so what size?

The headphone jack seems solid. Nice firm click everytime I plug my headphones in. The jack sits flush with the top of the phone and is covered by the phone casing.. basically the headphoen jack wont just fall off.. nor would it be possible to pull the jack out by removing the headphones.

Hope that helps!
