I thought that was a requirement for all BB's? JK, I just know my local one would rather hire cute girls that know nothing than myself who actually keeps up on tech. I'm not an expert by any means, but I know that I know more about the products at the store here than the people trying to sell me stuff there.

The bbm employees and manager are cool to sell it but it won't ring up in the pos system. Shows up in RSS. Now they are on the phone with help desk.

No, these are bad, even by BB standards. These people will put you on hold for 30+ minutes even when the store is dead. I tried to by a sound bar for my TV, and the person I was talking to had no idea what a sound bar even was.

it was weird...every time the BB reps talked about speaking with the carrier me and sfbates looked at each other like "oh jigs up....." and even when they spoke to them and told them we were UPGRADING to a Gnex they OK'ed it and it went through. My phone was different there was an issue with my account and they mannually activated the account orsomething....

it was weird but what was even weirder was that no one from VZW mentioned it was not available...some for a while it looked like we werent going to get it and the person helping us was thinking aloud saying "i guess the problem is that this phone isnt available..." and other reps said the same thing...thats when the floor manager came over and checked their system only to see that (for whatever reason) the phone's release date was today...

so really...there is no rubric..just get insanely lucky

Just left the Best Buy in Olathe, KS. They would not sell me a Nexus. I said their system said it was available today and that they had already sold two with an override to the register...he said they weren't supposed to sell them and can't sell anymore until the release date, which they didn't know when that was.

Congrats to you two. Sucks for me.

I went to my local BB store after seeing the luck that you guys had.

I actually showed the BB mobile rep the picture of your receipt saying that you guys have them in stock and selling them. He tried to find it in the system and he couldn't but he knows that I knew that the phone was origianlly was supposed to be released on the 9th. He knew I knew they had them in stock. So he got the lock from his manager, unlocked the cabinet and there it was. He pulled it out and scanned it so I thought it was going to happen but he ended up calling his Verizon rep and asked them when the SKU was going to go into the system. He told her that someone in KS purchased the phone and she said that they don't have a street release date yet and the box went back into the cabinet.

I'm going to go back later tonight to try to fool the rep. If you guys have your phone post your receipts so we can show the reps that BB's are selling them!

Do you think that if I went to a VZW and told them that I heard BB is selling them but I want to get my 30 dollar discount so I came to VZW first that they'd sell it to me? I'm sure they would say it isn't for sale yet, but would they try anyways if I told them I'll just go to BB instead then. VZW employees get commission so I'd think maybe they would try to sell it to me anyways rather than lose the sale?
Probably crazy, but a thought? I doubt it would work... so someone else go try first.
