Got one!

Thanks for the replies!

...Does Tizen offer Google Voice Search?

I'm thinking of getting the Frontier from T-Mobile so i can use MST when NFC isn't available on Samsung Pay app from my watch...I love using it on my phone, and NEVER thought i'd complain using a phone to pay is, "a clunky experience" but it sometimes can be, (even WITH my Orzley Ring)

I don't believe Google Search works. We'll see how much S-Voice has grown in the year since I gave up my original Gear S.

I just ordered one from T-Mobile as well. Delivery on Tuesday, which is fine since I'm out of town anyway. $0/month for the service. Wow!

I was told I'd pay $5 a month because of a promotion that was going on, but after seeing your post I called t-mobile and asked about the 0$ a month, and the rep told me it would be 0$ a month, so thanks for posting your experience since it gave me a heads up to call t-mobile and ask about the 0$ a month :)

Well, went ahead & "took the plunge"...My store had 1 (that's "o-n-e" (what the heck?!) so i snagged it. I'm completely confused about everything, so i will be a "Googling Fool" for the next few days, but my immediate question is THIS: Can i connect it to my phone (my main# i've had 13 years) and have texts & stuff come to my watch, BUT ALSO be able to use my watch to make calls if i "run out of the office & forget my phone on the desk"? (which is the MAIN reason i got this thing...) Thanx!

Out with the old....Hoping to make some custom band for this thing like i did with my Zenwatch2 : )

If you got the Gear S3 Frontier LTE version the answer to your question is yes. You will be able to make and receive phone calls and receive and send text messages without having your phone with you. Hope this helps.

Yes, i knew i could use it as a "standalone" since its LTE version. What i am trying to find out is, "can it be a notification watch" for my existing # of 13 years AT SAME TIME? Or is the LTE version ONLY capable of getting its own number's texts & so forth?

Thanx!

Yes. Use the feature "Number Sync" and when you call, text, or email from your watch the recipient will see your "phones" number. When you receive notifications to your phone it will show up on your watch. At least that's the way I understand it. I just got mine yesterday and the AT&T rep set my watch up with the Number Sync feature.

For people who are getting the watch for the $0 per month for the service have more then one phone line? I have only one line and would like the watch but I'm not sure if I would qualify for the promo.

I have 3 lines, I only called because I seen people posting here they were going to be $0, the rep first told me it would be $5 a month then I told her I had heard of the $0 a month for the watch and the rep looked into different promotions and she said there was a promo for $0 a month, you might want to call

I am wanting to get the S3 Frontier LTE through ATT. I want to use it as a standalone device with the numbersync option from ATT. All I want to do is use it for running (GPS) and to be able to stream Spotify without my phone.

I have an iPhone and that won't change. ATT had one the other day but couldn't tell me if I could set it up without an android phone. I have the beta Samsung Gear Manager app for iOS but they didn't have a floor model to try. Can anyone give me advice on this please?

It's sad because a lot of reps don't even try to figure it out or inform themselves on the products they're supposed to sell the public they just tell you whatever pops up in their head and try and sell you anything for the commission. How do you like the watch?

I like the watch. I would have stuck with the s2 but I use Samsung Pay on my s7 edge for basically 8 out 10 of my purchases especially for the Samsung rewards(The other 2 would be dept store cards. Hope samsung is planning to add them). I want to leave my phone at home sometimes because I hate carrying a purse so I wanted MST on my watch for those occasions.

The Spotify app is not on the watch & not available in Galaxy Apps. Not sure about your other questions but the only Spotify app I see available is a Playlist app that controls Spotify on your phone.

Interesting and thanks for the heads up! All the articles I've read said you could stream Spotify from the watch. I guess that makes it not a good choice for me unless it becomes available.

Yeah I sometimes go cycling at night and I like the fact I can leave my phone at home and use my watch to track my progress and also in case I get a flat far from home I can use the watch to call home.

Since I've had the feature starting with the gear s I continue to be amazed that I can forget or leave my phone at home or my office & still receive calls & notifications. Love it.

After a quick google search, I guess the app hasn't been released yet and is "coming soon".

Samsung has always done this even with accessories. I don't use the watch for the apps so my expectations are very low on that end. I only have a few apps that I have downloaded. I don't stream music that often so having Spotify didn't matter. If I want to listen to music I just add songs to my watch.

Yeah this is my first lte smartwatch I usually get the Bluetooth versions, so I'm liking the stand alone option
