Got the EVO

KC represent... that is sweet. I don't think I could switch to Sprint for this phone unfortunately, but it looks awesome! I'm curious about the bluetooth as well... my Nexus 1 is just horrible with my bluetooth headphones, while my iPod touch is pretty solid, as was my iPhone previously

try rooting and using Cyanogens latest ROMs. my BT lag is gone after this.

I have a question that puzzled me after spending some time on the Incredible forum.. they can't find Google Earth in the Android Market.

Can you check in the Android Market really quick to see if you can find Google Earth there? All my other questions have already been asked.

Thanks!

Here's what I'd like to see:

* Side by side, the hero and Evo, click the same apps at the same time to show how much faster they start up in the Evo

* Go to SunSpider JavaScript Benchmark (In Progress...) on both phones to test how fast the javascript is

* Shoot some video in 720p with the device and show it on an HD TV

I suspect the javascript test would be the same as they run the same browser. I'll do it on my hero 2.1 and let you know what I get anyway:

...
Results:
none, can't finish test. It gets stuck on the second time around.

Wow, watching the youtube video you shot, that is FAST! The one thing that's a concern is battery life. If you can only get 2.5-3 hours of use (judging from your initial test), then this device is useless.

Hey mentioned that it dropped 25% in a couple hours after heavy usage, that's pretty much normal as compared to say the Hero. He didn't say it dropped "to" 25% in a couple hours.

"Was fully charged at about 4PM but depleted to about 25% in a few hours of pretty constant use."

Actually, he DID say it dropped to 25%.

You can just download it and side load it from the sd card.

No, it should be faster on the Evo because processing power, memory all play into the speed.

The keyboard is great. Bigger obviously than the Hero and much easier to type on. Has the same haptic feedback but the key size really makes it easier to get it right.

I dont ever mess with Bluetooth so I am not going to even turn it on.

Voice command works really well. I did several google voice searches and it got the word right every time.

It does have a FCC Id number but it is way too small for my old guy eyes to see what it is.

And yes, Google Earth is on it. I downloaded it last night and it is super fast on this. I truly didnt expect it to be usable but it is and I found my house in no time! :)
And yes I said the battery went down to 25% of capacity.

PanzyDog Thanks for taking the time to post photos and video of the new EVO. I can't wait to get mine.

Thanks for doing this for us PanzyDog! Since it's hard for you to see, any way you can take a picture of the FCC tag and we could try to figure it out? If you can't for certain NDA reasons, I understand.

Can you take a shot of the memory page?

Yes I have a release date. Cannot give that info though. Sorry

Classic.. That's a great answer.. You got me dying over here, but I am chuckling... LOL Been waiting for the BB 9650x since November so another few weeks won't kill me. It'll hurt me but won't kill me..
