I have had a iPhone 4S jailbroke using abstine (untethered) it was simple and going back to stock was a click away. *restore* it had built in safety features such as safe mode.

Now I have a att galaxy S3 running jelly bean for a week now and want to see what rooting will do for me can I mess anything up using set cpu? Or a rooting kit (play store app).and is it simple to return to stock

Thank you

Edit I know bricking is possible but I will be following every direction there is for the att and i wont be installing any mods like cm10 I

I've been thinking of rooting but never made the jump. I think you've made my mind up for me..
Thanks

It's pretty easy with the toolkit. Pretty much pick settings and one click. You should read the terms and what they mean before rooting so you know what your doing.

I'm getting ready to help my sister root her Sprint S3...is there a "one click" option?

After looking through the post it looks like its only for Windows PCs unfortunately.

well i am rooted now.. downloading rom tool box pro it was $3.00 so there went my money for other things.. any do's and donts i need to know like over/under clocking speed (whats safe limit) roms, fonts and themes ( i know it has to say att galaxy s3 and datt2 file in name (for roms) its not like i phone where you could down load themes and if something went wrong it went in to safe mode then you could remove it and phone was normal.. i am hoping i didnt waste $3.00 with this tool kit but it was cheaper then buying rom mananger pro. set cpu. and other items

thank yall for the advice

I use both ROM toolbox pro and ROM Manager pro. Your ROM choice depends on preference. If you like a straight forward ROM I recommend Slim ROM. If You like a lot of customization then I suggest Avatar ROM. Either way XDA will be your best friends.

I thought avatar rom was for the international s3. I had synergy rom for about a week didnt like it. I didnt use most of the features

One thing this beats a jail broke iphone 4s

I did not care for Avatar ROM, didn't care for Liquid Smooth either. Also have a hard time going back to 4.1 Roms after usinmg 4.2.2.

My favorites so far are AOKP, Paranoid Android and ParanoidKANGdroid.

I'm going to try Super Nexus and Beanstalk. My guess is Super Nexus will be the same as my stock Nexus 7 tablet.
