Got the update, Google Lens now in Assistant

I just happened to squeeze my P2XL to set a timer, and I noticed the Lens icon. I have been checking for the update since it was announced, and now it's here!

I've been walking around my apartment checking things like a madman. Unfortunately I don't have a lot in here to really test it. And it's cold and dark outside right now. So I will have to wait a little while to really put it through its paces. But so far I like it. A lot.

That one's been there for a while it's also in pictures, apparently it's supposed to show up in the camera but I haven't seen it there yet

I knew it was coming to assistant, I hadn't heard that it was supposed to be available in the camera also.

I could be mistaken in thinking it was going to go to the camera, not a hundred percent on that one

Not a lot of clarity in this article if it's in the camera or not

Yes it will come via a Google Framework update in the background randomly.

I finally got it. Bottom right of assistant.

OK, so it's not actually in the camera app, but accesses the camera when enabled from Google Assistant. Still, very cool to be able to use Google Lens w/o actually having to take a picture.

I squeezed and said take a picture in 10 seconds camera started counting down

It sounds like they were just squeezing to access assistant so they can start a timer. Not necessarily for the camera...could be wrong, but that's how I interpreted it.
