If the server you were downloading from is limited to less than either of your connections then you will both get the same result. In other words, if your connection is 20MBPS, and his is 10MBPS, but the server you are downloading from can only deliver 5MBPS, you will both get 5 no matter how fast the individual connections.

The speed test apps also download files to test the speed, but their servers are high performance so you will get the true connection speed.

You hit the nail on the head, very well put. Best way to show how great that LTE is working is by simply watching youtube videos or stream a Netflix movie. Never any buffering, try that on a slow I-Phone connection, you will be very lucky to get thru a youtube video without buffering thru the whole thing.

Same here until they got the Note. Those dimensions are almost the ideal, perfect device size for me.

I had high hopes when reports of the "Journal", the once rumored VZW Note variant, when those reports surfaced. When that proved to be a falsehood, that served as my breaking point for perusing almost every other cell blog outside of the good folks here @ AC. That phone would be about the only phone I'd drop full retail on, in the near future to keep unlimited data.
