gps /sync / wi-fi automatic toggle?

I know this has probably been addressed either individually or as a group before but I haven't been able to parse the 1000 threads my search turned up for a definitive answer. I'm still new to my Evo and still figuring out what I can and can't do.

I guess the first question is, is there a setting that auto toggles the functions like wi-fi, gps and sync when you initiate an application and then turns them off when you're through?

2nd question is, if this is not a built in function are there app's to cover all or any of that type of capability?

I know this can be manually done, I even have the widget on my home screen, but I'd like something a little more seamless.

Tried Juice Defender in tandom with Task Killer and I've seen some improvement on battery life. 1 hour of continual use with the music player and only saw a 5% drop. Not too bad I think...

IMO - don't obsess over battery percentages. be smart about it - but don't obsess.

no obsessing...yet... but my batt was draining pretty quick, even after rooting and flashing a new ROM. My phone would die in 2-3 hours of moderate use.

hmmmm, don't get it, 4 hours later, almost no use and the battery dropped to 46%??
