I have the A14 5G.

Just recently I started having issues with group messaging (3 people total).

My recipients can receive my messages but I cannot read their messages in return.

This was never an issue before.

I am using the Google messaging app.

Let me know how I can troubleshoot.

Thanks

One is an IPhone user and the other is a Android.

Regardless, it worked before so not why it stopped about a week ago?

Are the missing messages from the iPhone user? Apple's implementation of RCS has been notoriously sketchy (which surprises no one, since Apple has dragged its feet forever about RCS compatibility).

Yes, from the IPhone user.

It worked perfectly but just recently started not about a week ago.

Should I try the Samsung messaging app?

You can try Samsung messages but they are phasing it out. There are other threads here where people are trying figure out how to prolong the life of their Samsung Messages app as Samsung is actively pushing them to Google Messages.

Anyway, I asked your question to Google and these were the things it suggested you try. I included the information about the iPhone in the group to be sure to cover that base.

1. Check Group Messaging Settings (Most Common Fix)
  • Open Google Messages and tap your profile picture/icon in the top right corner.
  • Go to Message settings > Advanced > Group messaging.
  • Select "Send an MMS reply to all recipients (group MMS)".
    YouTube +3
2. Network and Data Check
  • Turn on Mobile Data: Group messages involving iPhones require MMS, which does not work over Wi-Fi alone.
  • Reset Network Settings: Go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will refresh connections without deleting data.

3. Clear Cache and App Data
  • Go to Settings > Apps > Find the Messages app > Storage > Clear Cache.
  • If that fails, consider Clear Data (this will not delete your messages, just reset app settings).
    Google Help +2
4. Toggle RCS/Chat Features
  • Open Google Messages > Settings > RCS chats.
  • Toggle "Turn on RCS chats" off and then on again. If this fails, try keeping it off temporarily to test if it's an RCS vs. SMS/MMS conflict.

5. Other Potential Solutions
  • Restart your phone: Simple restarts can often clear temporary connectivity issues.
  • Remove and re-add: Ask the group to create a new group chat; the old one might be corrupted.
  • Remove group member: A user on a Reddit thread suggested that the issue might be on the iPhone user's side if they are not sending messages as SMS.
Let us know if any of this works for you.

Thanks and I will try it out.

I won't use Samsung Messaging as it is being phased out.

Give me a few days and I'll get back with an update.

Thanks
