Growing Very Impatient

Hi All,

New here and brand new to the Android OS. Have a Palm Pre (good OS, horrible hardware) and prior to that many a years with assorted Blackberry devices.

Anyway, I know that launch day is only 11 days away but it feels like an eternity! I so desperately want this device (I know I'm not alone) that I find myself wanting to pull the trigger on an Ebay EVO. Anyone else feel the same?
I am also concerned that if Sprint does not do a pre-order that I may be out of lock and they will all be sold out by the time I get to the store.
My other concern is what if it breaks in a week or whatever after I purchase from Ebay. Will Sprint still honor the warranty even though it wasn't purchased from their store?

First, I'm in the very same boat and very impatient for the Evo to be released, HOWEVER I would just wait the 11 days. I mean it's only 11 days.

Also as long as you have insurance already on your account when the phone is added, Sprint will honor it. I also think that you have 30 days after you add the phone to your plan to make sure that insurance is there.

I've bought several phones from eBay and have no problems with the phone being covered by Sprint since the insurance was on my account prior to buying the phone.

one problem with an ebay EVO right now is that you can't put it on your account until the 4th................
so if you break it before then you're SOL.

Not true I'm using mine on my personal account, it may require you to call sprint like 10 times but it will get done if you ask for a supervisor.

I know exactly how you feel about waiting for the phone. To me the extra $ is not worth paying for to buy one from Ebay though. I cannnot get anything done at work because I keep looking at the internet and this forum for new info on the phone LOL! Oh well just a little bit longer

Buying one on Ebay will be cool for about 11 days. Everyone will then get one and you will be the guy that spent too much for a phone.

I've been waiting for a phone now for 6 months, I started out waiting for the BB 9650 and when that didn't come out when everyone thought it would in January, I waited longer, NOW I am waiting for the EVO 11 more days to order won't kill me.. Just think of all the fun you will have when you finally do get it..

I'm in the same boat as you guys!!! I wanted to get one but when the price is going more than $199 and people are paying 2-3 times that, I could wait a little longer. For what you pay on Ebay, you can have 2 or 3 phones plus accessories. It's worth the wait!!!

for some reason, after I pre-order the phone, now my iPhone is acting up.. Not sure I want it to break intentionally or what Already request day off for June 4th, it will be short week next week (with Memorial Holiday and all)..

Sprint should really give this whole "Let them wait" bs up. They've already handed out thousands of them, why not just let people get them already? I understand that Apple and ATT do the same, but God almighty, by the time we get this thing, Verizon, ATT and T-Mobile will have something better.

Actually, I think their doing this launch right, they announced the phone and not too long later it comes out. Look at the Pre, announced in January and released in June. Not good. Their also amping up their stock for the release date. I was told by my sprint rep yesterday that their store should be getting about 100 phones.

If I have to wait as long as I did last time for my pre, Im sure by then my want will die out and I'll wait on a Palm device.

Look at Apple for example, even though I hate them with a passion and believe its just a Fad to have an iphone, they do their launches and hype right. I guess we'll all see on June 7th if they announce the new iphone, I bet they wouldn't make it longer than a month for their release date.

I had to wait 11 days to pick up my gun after I bought it. Just be glad you haven't spent any money yet.
