GS5 pop email stops syncing

[AC Question]

My GS5 email has worked fine since I received the phone at launch. However, a couple of days ago it stopped syncing the inbox, but will send emails. If I delete the account and then set it up again, it will sync initially and then stop receiving emails again. How can I fix this?
