Guess I'm going to leave AT&T if we don't get 6.0 by the end of the month.

Seeing as the phone is about a year old, I doubt that. Eligibility for upgrades amongst S6A owners is non-existent at this point, unless they bought the device outright or paid off the device early. There really is nothing in Marshmallow that is a game-changer for 99.9% of the phone users, so there's no point in crying about not having it. The only reason to upgrade to the S7A is that it's the phone the S6A should have been, and that's only something that hardcore enthusiasts would even contemplate doing.
But you have to agree that bringing the update 8 months after Google launched it is a bit too much. I loved getting it in January (I have the chance unlocked htc one m8). It's smoother... And doze mode is great.

Nope I'm 1 year in and per ATT am eligible for upgrade with Next 24 month upgrade option. It's a relatively new plan upgrade every year.
S7 doesn't excite me much. I'm waiting for note 7

I am one year in as well and they said I was not elligible for another upgrade (via Next) for another 19 months, LOL. I didn't think I did the 30 month pay plan, but whatever.

Not sure why. They now have a new next that gives you a new phone for monthly fee. This is a trade in deal so my phone needs to be in perfect shape, which it is. The only other thing I can think of is I used a down-payment a year ago so I only still owe about 240.00. Maybe that has something to do with it. Othwise I'm not sure why but it says I'm eligible now.

I hear you but ATT's main concern is their bottom line. Selling phones helps that bottom line.

I don't truly believe in a conspiracy theory but ATT is dragging their feet here with the update.

Re: Guess I'm going to leave AT&T if we don't get 6.0 by the end of the month.

Can someone please post a link to the official OTA update file sideload procedure ? My fiend has a att s6 active which is not updating for itself. We live in Europe, can that be the culprit?
Thanks :)

There is no official update at this time and your phone likely won't update at all since you are not on an AT&T network. The update servers are localized by network area, so you'd have to ship the phone to someone in the US when the update is released and then they can update it and ship it back to you.

lol. No I don't, I can get the OTA and sideload it.

Going to sideload tomorrow. I just did it on my Note 5, and the next day they released marshmallow! LOL so if I sideload this on my S6 active, maybe the marshmallow update will come soon for you guys! LOL

Yes, I'm currently on 6.0.1 now. I'm waiting for my back up to restore, I'll keep you all posted. :-) Whole process took about 40 minutes.

Fully restored....and so far...VERY SNAPPY FAST! Just as my Note 5 after updating it through sideload.

Android shouldn't forget about the S6 Active, at least I don't understand why they would. This is a relatively new phone, so it should be regularly updated with the latest OS.
