Guess I'm going to leave AT&T if we don't get 6.0 by the end of the month.

Still nothing from AT&T...

I got a "security update" this month, but still waiting like everyone else for an update to a phone I'm paying $800 for...GRRRRRR!!!

I guess that I should have just waited a year for the S7 Active if I wanted version 6 anytime soon, huh?!?

Meanwhile, I see phones all over the place that have 6.0.1.

I bought a Samsung because I got sick and tired of the crappy cameras on HTC, but now I'm just getting a different high hard one by buying a Samsung, huh?

The issue with the release of Marshmallow to me doesn't fall on Samsung. They more than likely have given the update to AT&T, but they want to make their tweaks and stuff before pushing it out. That is an issue with carrier exclusive phones.

I feel your frustration. This is carrier based. All other versions of S6 received the update about 1 week ago. I read S5 also has it now. The active is different. We do not have finger scanners and have an active key. We will always be last. This is not samsung, this is AT&T. We need to wait about another 3 weeks but it will come eventually.

I spoke to an At&t rep and it it going to start rolling out the 3rd week in June yo coincide withr the release of the S7 Active.

As always....AT&T'reps are last to know. Their guess is as good as yours and mine.

In going back and reviewing their update timelines, the big upgrades do seem to be mostly aligned with new phone releases that already have the latest. That's a lousy way of doing things, but I think the only way we can get around that is to complain to Google, the FCC, and AT&T. Google is currently waging a PR war against carriers who are not updating the phones rapidly enough and the FCC is also poking the carriers with a stick to see what their deal is.

Where does it say that a carrier is required to provide OS updates to phones they sell? Seems to me, if the FCC pokes the bear with a stick, the bear will simply bite back and state that after the sale, phones will not be updated or that there will be a service charge for updates. I have not yet purchased a smartphone with the anticipation of getting the next update.

I wish I knew the reason AT&T was really holding MM back on the S6 Active. I'm running an unofficial build on my Active and its great. If the reason is that "we are waiting for the S7 Active to launch" then that is a very poor excuse. Looking at the specs, the greatest advantage of the S7Active has over the S6Active is the SD card slot. And considering that alot of people use streaming services and have cloud access, the need for anything larger than 64GB storage decreases. I'm on a 32GB S6 Active and am fine with downloading playlists to my device, having about 24 additional Play Store apps/games.

Place the S6 Active next to a S7 Active in store and you'll see a different color scheme and minor design changes. Throw a hybrid case or an otterbox on an S7 and you have an Active sans the physical buttons. Water resistance is still there, along with an SD card.

So true as i have the 64GB Active and I'm running a more later build leak of MM. They are holding the update to ensure people buy the S7 Active. Look at what they did for the S6 which is hold the update until the S7 got released and got enough sales traction. The only difference with the upcoming new version will be sdcard slot and fingerprint sensor no doubt, as the camera bump up is debatable. This is the last carrier branded phone I have as I will not buy anything from At&t or any other carrier. I only have brought unlocked phones since then and won't go through the update mess anymore with the idiots.

by the way i'm on the G890AUCU3CPE9 MM build now with June 1, 2016 security patch

It is sad. The S6 Active was my first branded phone and even though I love it. It will be my last. I bought this phone for the durability and water proofing but I fine I take very good care of my phones so that is not an issue. I am always looking for the latest changes so being held back like this is my last straw.

Any significant changes from build ...CP3E3/May security update?

I'm thinking I might hold off for the OTA update, but who knows when that's coming.

Nothing of note, Still stable but has June security update.
