Guidance Needed to Unlock oppo cph2371 : " Password Required when Phone Restarts : Android v13 / Color OS

am new to the community, I'm having trouble unlocking oppo cph2371, a friend of mind has brought me the phone saying they cant remember setting the code. they discovered this issue after rebooting the phone.

i have tried to do some research on the web if there are any paid tools that can be used. I'm happy to pay for the appropriate tool.

the one that keeps comeing up is UNLOCKTOOL, but I'm not sure if this is legit ..

the primary objective is to recover the photos and video from the phone . i have specialized data recovery software that i can use, but the phone is locked and i think we would have a better chance to recover the data to unlock first. I'm not sure if the data recovery software will be able to recover the photos and video after a factory reset which seems to be my only option at this point.

any guidance here would be very much appreciated.

You can try Reddit. Android central does not help others bypass security. Even if this is your friend's phone and he gave you permission to do this we have no way of knowing for sure. Sorry, maybe suggest a memory boosting app.

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, but rvbfan is correct -- we don't allow discussions about trying to bypass security measures, regardless of the individual situation, because then someone with more nefarious intent might utilize whatever is discussed.

You can suggest looking into a forensic data recovery specialist, but those can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. I'm going to close this thread.
