[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Re: [GUIDE][7/12] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

So I did the TWRP 2.2.0 through goo, nice app. so if I touch wipe, it does wipe all that is needed to do a clean install, like cache, dalvik, etc. if I switch ROMS from JB to CM.

Are there any tweaks you guys would recommend in settings, etc?
Made my 1st backup this morning, (99 secs) now maybe tonight I'll do CM10 if the kids give me some free time, lol!

Have a good day all!

Wipe takes you to a submenu with all of the wipe options. When switching ROMs, do them all. Cache, dalvik, system, data. Make your backup FIRST though.

CM10 is JB. If you flash the JB bootloader, make sure you flash back to the ICS bootloader before restoring an ICS nandroid.

The only question I have is with basically the instruction noted... "make sure you have Cyonogen mod installed first". What's that all about? I can't install this if I'm currently running BB? Can someone please clarify? Thanks.

Where can one find TWRP? Interested in it but i cannot locate a DL for it

If you haven't downloaded this yet, an easy way to get it is to download goo manager from the play store (good to have with TWRP anyway). If you press flash rom once downloaded it will ask if you have installed an opensource recovery and say no and it will download and install automatically :-)

so i was on AOKP for a few minutes yesterday, but thought euro was a little better at the time, so i went back last night. I see both have been updated since then, but wondering if its worth switching back over to AOKP. Any opinions?

I did the JB bootloader when I went up to JB 3.x , I have no interest in ICS.
But know I have to decided, so much talk about AOKP and CM 10 I not one to flash and flash, I just want to stick with whats nice, I stuck with Jake and JB but now that there are moew options and from bigger devs I need to make a choice.

AOKP gets my vote. But I have not tried CM10, so there's that. :)

AOKP is nice , better (IMO) than the JB ports. Why not try them both see which suits you.

theyre both awesome. its just some little things and aesthetics for the most part right now. cm feels slightly quicker but you have kernels to adjust that. :)

they are both WORLDS better than the ports.

Looks like CM10 has an official unofficial preview build. I'm sticking with AOKP for now, but would be interested in hearing feedback if anyone gives it a try.

I flashed it this morning. It runs as smooth as Euroskank, if not more so.

I did read on a different site that it includes the SDM.apk which they said is a battery drainer. I am not sure if its the cause or not but I am at 60% after an hour on battery. I just renamed it to sdm.bak and will see if that makes a difference. If I still get crappy battery life I will go back to Euroskank.

Does anyone have any info on this apk?

I may or may not have flashed AXI0M CORE.

Re: [GUIDE][7/24] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

My ROM or ROM/Kernel combo is acting up today. It was perfectly fine yesterday, so who knows what's causing the wonk.

A flash is imminent. I just wish something that isn't a day old would be released! THAT'S TOO OLD! WANTZ ROOTZ!

I'm a sucker for ICS blue text on black background.
