Now running JB14 1344 kernel. Seems to be running fine. However, I am not seeing any Deep Sleep now. I have been since running Vicious v2 from day 1 with 3 different kernel's with no issue, but now... nothing. I don't have the Trinity tool kit. I am currently using Franco app or SetCPU. Is there some setting that I'm missing?

*Update: apparently, my phone hasn't had a reason to go into deep sleep yet.
I realize that Google now needs to have Google location services turned on to operate correctly. Is this just something we will have to deal with from now on?
There is a lot more awake time with all of the location services turned on. Let me know that I am not alone so I don't go nuts again trying to figure out what's keeping my phone awake.

Alright I messed up my phone, that's what I get for messing with it when I don't know what I'm doing. I cleared everything then flashed Vicious V3 then I flashed the trinity TNP1344-384-ALPHA95 Kernal and now I am Stuck in a bootloop, it just says Google. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

No problem, that's why we're here.

You want to download (1) the 1.8 file, and (2) the GAPPS from 7/1.

Reboot into CWM, do a wipe of EVERYTHING--data, cache, dalvik, and go to mounts/storage and format /system. Hell, do it twice!

Then, flash the 1.8 rom zip FIRST and the GAPPS second. If you forget about the GAPPs, then power down your phone (immediately lol) and flash them.

I recommend trinity, so far it's been the best kernel for my device. However each device responds differently, so if you find a kernel, try it for a day before giving up!

If you want to use trinity, download it, place it on your SDcard (like you would a rom), and reboot into CWM and flash it. I recommend a cache/dalvik wipe b/c that's always safe.
Thanks alot for the help. Much appreciated! I'll take the plunge when I get home.

I had this problem after flashing Vicious V3 and rebooting without any other mods or kernels. I wasn't able to restore a CWM backup or flash any roms with a data wipe. Only way to fix it was to restore to stock. Just search how to restore Galaxy Nexus back to 100% stock. You will lose all your data, but you might be able to do a data wipe in CWM then do the fastboot update without the -w modifier.

You might try flashing the stock bootloader and radios, then a 4.0.4 or older rom with a factory reset. No guarantees on that but worth a try I guess. If not then follow the full restore, but don't put the -w in the "fastboot update" command. If it still doesn't work you're gonna need to do a full wipe.

Probably should try what dmmarck said first, but I had no luck with that.

It might take five to ten to load up the first time. You sure its not just taking a while?

Deep sleep in that regard is not really the kernel, but the constant location services/search services. It is something we're going to have to deal with, I reckon.

In order to get deep sleep, some have turned on maps, let it find them, then closed it. Some say it works, some say it doesn't--worth a shot?

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

GPS is way, way, WAY off for me on Jelly Belly 1.9.

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

so my gps file is -r- only. any way to set it to rw without purchasing root explorer? is there an adb command

edit: can i use "chmod 777 <filename>?

What file explorer are you using? There should be an option to do it somewhere...at least with ES Explorer, IIRC.

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Then perhaps GPS is all awry.

FWIW, mine's working brilliantly.

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

i think im gonna try the scorched earth policy with my phone, and wipe it all, and try 1.9 as a clean flash
