[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Re: [GUIDE][6/29] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

I've been reading the threads, and cannot find where to change the lock screen txt. Could you point us in the direction?:)

It's in post#3 of this thread. You have to download a file from another website/forum, then edit the text and place on SD card, etc. dmmarck has it it all laid out for ya.

I think I found the next android software name. Candy cane? Could this be yet?

Just to clarify. Is there a JB ROM out yet with any swagg incorporated?

You're gonna need to be patient. Nobody even has the actual Jelly Bean release. The only version out there is the developer preview.

Also. Something to bask in the glory of.
Go to developer options and slow transition speed to 1.5 or slower and watch the buttery and beautifulness of Jelly bean in Slo-Mo.
Tis glorious!

Why would it start with a "K"

Have you been paying attention? Google is going down the alphabet in naming the different versions of Android.

Anyone with a guess as to why my battery is draining so quick?

Running Vicious Jelly Bean with the franco kernel.

Battery is draining quickly. From 100% to 60% in less than an hour and a half. Tried the CPU Spy app.

Showing Deep Sleep for 15% and 384 MHz for 79%.

Is this causing the problem? As much as I love JB, I want to be able to use it away from the charger.

You wipe? (obligatory first question) Restore old data?

Which version of Vicious are you running? Which version of franco? Any other mods or fixes applied?

And just as an offshot.. open maps if you haven't and let it find you, then close it. Apparently some people are finding it's doing that again (its an old "issue" people had in ICS ROMs before) and you need to let it zero in on you then close it so it stops running in the background.

Can't do a wipe since I'm out of town. I'll check the GPS deal in maps and see how that works.

Im running what appears to be 3.0.31 franco kernel 384 GPU.

Also I appear to have a Roaming Indicator Off label on my notification window instead of the Verizon label.

My Swype is working with no problems!

So, you ran the pre-installer followed by logging in and having Swype finish downloading and setting up? I think my ROM install is hosed cause no matter how I try, I can't complete the login and setup. It loops me through login back to login w/ no error messages... him. I'll try on a different browser maybe, else I'll wipe and retry from square one!

Edit: Got it! Chrome was messing it up. Used stock browser and it worked!
