Lol I hope that doesn't happen!
384 is safer. My phone hasn't played nice with anything past that on Jelly Bean (yet).

Noob question, how do you know if the kernal is install and running on your phone? thanks in advance
Newbie here ... I am unlocked, rooted and running a Jelly Bean ROM on Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Thanks to this Forum.
I wanted to establish an ongoing procedure for myself to flash ROMs (I got the current ROM on by trial and error). Is this the correct procedure:
INSTALL ANOTHER ROM
Step 1: Go to this thread within forum and download the appropriate .zip file to obtain a Jelly Bean Rom
Step 2: Transfer the .zip file to the root of the /sdcard directory on your Galaxy Nexus
Step 3: Reboot into ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery (Hold Down "Volume Up, Volume Down" & Power buttons at the same time with the Phone Off)
Step 4: Select Recovery Mode: Take an Android backup of your device.
Step 5: Wipe data/factory reset, cache,go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache, go to mounts/storage and format system
Step 6: Choose install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > [file you downloaded in Step 2]. This will flash the Jelly Bean update on your Galaxy Nexus.
Step 7: Select "Go Back" and select "Reboot ..."
Thank you
Everything sounds good there. Make sure you also download and flash gapps unless the rom specifically says they are already baked in.

Okay, gapps is would be any associated Google Apps package (e.g., maps, mail, etc.) correct?
It should be the one listed by the dev in the op. You flash that immediately after you flash the rom. Do not reboot after you flash the rom if you haven't flashed gapps yet.

Okay... did the bump upto Bugless Beast and so far, I like it alot...!! QQ though, I went to look for the theme mods, i.e. circle battery, white clock, reboot, etc...and cant find them for BB... I found them for Jelly, but not BB... does anyone know if there are any...? Thanks again...
Got it ... I see those types of instructions here [ROM] Jelly Belly v3.4 - 07/12/2012 - [JellyBean] [4.1.1] [Pure AOSP] - It's all about speed! - [VZW] Galaxy Nexus Development - RootzWiki
It appears I need to download / transfer and flash three zip files:
1. JB bootloader
2. ROM
3. GApps
This is my experiment for this rainy Saturday, thank you.
just remember, you only need to flash the bootloader once, not every time you change a rom (as long as they are all jelly bean based - for ICS, youll need the ICS bootloader)
GApps however, needs to be flashed each time, even if you dont wipe in between
I'm just curious, but is flashing the JB bootloader just like flashing anything else? Honestly, I don't even know what a "bootloader" actually is. I've been (and will continue to, for the time being) avoiding flashing that, though I imagine I will eventually.
Does it affect root/ unlocked status in any way? As in, once you flash it, do you have to re-unlock, re-root, and get CWM back on there? Or, again, is it just like flashing a ROM/ kernel?
