how do i do this:

Scroll down to "install zip from sdcard" - press power button
5 options will appear on next screen choose the first "choose zip from sdcard" press power button
Scroll till you find tu_root.zip and press power button
Scroll down to "Yes - Install tu_root.zip" press power

CWM - Clockworkmod - this is the recovery system which enables the user to make a backup, flash ROMs, recover previous ROM versions, flash programs, wipe cache and user data. This program replaces the stock android recovery system.

Hey when the phone is done rooting will it still be the stock rom? I want the rom that came with the phone and not a custom one. Ive done odin root with my prevail and i had the option to root with the stock rom

Rooting this device actually does nothing, other than give you access to the filing system. It will be completely stock other than recovery.

Hey when i went to odin to select the ops file, nothing pops up. I put the ops file on my desktop so i can find it easily but its not there. I have the latest transform ultra drivers installed too. I even created a folder on my desktop for the just ops and the folder pops up but the ops doesnt. When i downloaded the ops from the drop box it downloaded as TransformUltra.ops.txt. Any ideas?

Rename the file TransformUltra.ops. I have seen this numerous times. Your computer just recognizes it as a .text instead of .ops.

well i ran into another problem. when its in the desktop its already named transformultra.ops. oding just cant find it. i redownloaded the file too. maybe i have to reinstall odin or maybe redownload the drivers for my device. something. when i rooted my prevail i had no problems with odin finding the ops. is there some special program i need for my pc to read the ops?

No special program is needed for Odin. The problem is your computer is reading the file as something else. Everyone's computer does it some times. The file you said was TransformUltra.ops.txt. You need to have the file read TransformUltra.ops only. The computer needs to show the whole file extension. You need to enable "show file extension" in your computer OS.

Right it says that but the file extension your computer gave it is hidden.
