[GUIDE] How To Root/Unroot The Thunderbolt with Revolutionary

I apologize but I have been waiting for device for 15 minutes now. Is there anything that I should have done but did not?

Nevermind - figured it out. I was scared to root, but now that I am - can not wait to see what this sucker can do!

I'm rooted with Revolutinary and SU Binary Updater says my binary is currently 2.3.2-efgh, and there is an update to 3.0.3. Everything is working fine and I don't really want to fix anything that isn't broke. Should I be concerned at all or just ignore it? Any advantage or disadvantage to the old binary?

You can update it... nothing bad will happen. .

I rooted the old way back in May, but I'm worried if I will be able to update to Gingerbread.. I have not received an update yet and was worried if my rooting caused that. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Are you running stock or a custom ROM?

If you're using custom ROMs then all you need are the new radios if you don't have them yet. If you're on stock just flash the Gingerbread RUU.
From here: [RUU/ROM] Final Gingerbread OTA Build 2.11.605.5 (Untouched and Rooted versions) - xda-developers
Follow the steps in the 3rd post.

If all you need are the new radios, they can be found here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/th...-backup-restore-install-roms-thunderbolt.html

Yes to both...I'm doing everything that the guy does in the YouTube video and I got it to work on a different thunderbolt.

If you already rooted another Thunderbolt on the same computer... try uninstalling the Revolutionary program and re-installing it again. Same goes for the drivers if that doesn't work. Your computer still might be recognizing the other phone instead.

Also have you deleted the HTC Sync program from the computer?

I have uninstalled every download it says to download...I have no htc sync installed and how can I make my computer not think its talking to my other tb?

If you uninstalled everything you should be good to start installing again and hook up the other tbolt.

You need to remove the pg05img.zip off of the SD card before you can boot into recovery.
