[GUIDE] How To Root/Unroot The Thunderbolt with Revolutionary

wow, that site is slow, probably took me 4 hours to download, but the md5 did check out. I will unroot soon. Thanks for your help!

Fyi, i didn't see it in your faq, but for those who rooted using the og method(the one before revolutionary) , alls you need to do to go back to stock is to flash the 2 files under

" Putting current stock firmware and s-on back onto the phone "

First time rooter. Any help is appreciated.

I got to S-Off properly and I had selected for clockwork to download and it said success. When I went into recovery (Step 10) I got the HTC Splash Screen. The splash screen hasn't changed for atleast 10 munutes. Is my phone frozen? What should I do?

Thanks

Hi,

Solve my file loading. It was due to the SD-CARD format corruption.

I reformatted the card.

Thanks!

I have been trying to use this method for two days. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the usb drivers, tried different usb ports, tried two different computers, tried wiping and reloading my tb all to no avail. I had root on my old tb but had to get a replacement and now cant seem to find a root process that works. It keeps just haning at zerging root and goes no further.

Did you downgrade?
If not, DON'T! And use the tool in my signature

No downgrade done as of yet and tks for the input i will try your method when i get a chance.

Woot worked with np now i am fully rooted and rocking cyanogenmod 7 .... well untill a stable version of 9 hits for the tb :) tkx much

Success for me on first try. Rooted on Win7 VMWare machine (I have a Macbook Pro). Followed the directions in OP Post #2, non-downgrade. Thank you!

Ok I'm getting to the part where I run revolutionary but it keeps saying "Failed to get root! :(" What have I done wrong? I followed the video.

USB port is borked on my wife's phone. Is this as simple as renaming the files to PG05IMG.zip and flashing in the correct order through the bootloader.......no computer required? also, did you do this over the top of shadowmite's permanent hboot? I am sweating here as the warranty device will be here soon and need to return to stock, not quite sure I trust the "Thunderbolt Restore App" from the market. Thanks for the reply!

Edit: Btw, the links in the op are bad, I havve tried them many times over the past 36 hours and they fail after 20 or so mb, with and without a download manager.

Yes.. if you didn't use Revolutionary to root the phone... all you need to do is flash those two pg05img zip files in the correct order.

.. otherwise if you did use Revolutionary to root.. then you will need to perform all of the steps involved.

cool thanks. Didnt use revolutionary, did it the old way when phone first came out. So, about the links to the no_hboot file. keeps failing, and unaable to download. any way you could dropbox it or update the link?
