[GUIDE] Rooting 3.7/Hboot2.02+ w/screen shots (1/27/2011)

o ok thank you, didn't know that. this the first time i ever heard of Md5. and yes the codes did match and my phone has already been rebooted when i did these steps earlier.

p.s. do i have to backup my phone before rooting? going back to factory reset is no problem for me since everything i need is on my sd card

You can backup your apps with titanium backup after you get temporary root, then I would just start the process over as one of the first steps is to factory reset your phone.

Yes but im asking is it NECESSARY to do it. restored to factory reset is fine with me since everything i need is on my sd card

when i extract the files which option do i choose

"Extract and replace files"
"Extract and update files"
or "Fresh existing Files"

ok i made a new folder called C:evoroot and when i do command prompt it doesn't recognize the file

there is no evoroot directory on my files. it seems like im extracting files then create new folder and name it c:evoroot and let it zip everything but then it still doesn't show anywhere in my files

The folder should be called "evoroot" and it should be on your c drive, all the files and folders from the zip should be copied in to it.

i extracted the files (all of them) to the c: drive and put it in a folder called evoroot

and i got a windows xp and clicked run > cmd > cd c:evoroot. i even done c:evoroot or just evoroot alone and nothing works.

this is weird dude!!
