[GUIDE] UPDATED: How to Root Your Sprint Galaxy S3

So I followed this to a T, everything worked, but now the phone boots up, accepts all my texts and whatnot, then after about 20 seconds it freezes and reboots. Is there any way to unroot the phone? This obviously doesn't work right for some reason.

Edit: So I got pissed and knocked the phone off my desk, of course the battery fell out. When I picked up the phone and put the battery back in it booted up and appears to be working fine lol. I guess it just needed another battery removal.

LOL that's how I fix my black berry, I think it's actually in the manual :p

LOL. Well, I'm glad it's working for you. If you have any more problems, come back and start a new thread. We'll try to help.

You Sir, are a genius, I just got my GS3 last night, used your tools, and in less than 10 minutes (after about 45 reading and re-reading) I have a stock root.

So I am also getting this issue. Unfortunately just removing the battery didn't work for me. I'm going to run through the whole checklist again and see if that fixes it.

If you haven't already, you might want to try a factory reset. It shouldn't be necessary, but it will fix lots of glitches. Good luck, and let us know if you're still having issues.

Quick question; I'm still on Android version 4.1.1
The OTA update that was released recently has been trying to get me to install it for quite some time but I haven't done so in fear that this method wouldn't work if I did.
Can I do that OTA update before rooting with this method? Or do I have to root while on Android version 4.1.1?

I am on MB1 non rooted and plan to root with this method later this week. I just got this phone a week ago, and was talking to the Sprint employee about getting the S4. I was thinking about it but didn't want to cash out the extra $100 when I already knew the S3 has a great rooting community. I can get this device to run perfectly for me, I don't need anything newer. I was sold on the S3 when the Sprint guy said that the next update to the S3 will bring most of the features that the S4 currently has, like using two application at once.
Now my question is, that when the next update comes out, will there be a way to upgrade like has been provided with MB1? Hopefully prerooted? :p

Huh I just figured I was up to date because I thought I would have gotten an ota notification. But alright that makes it much easier haha. Thanks!
