GummyJar - ROM

K just purchased Droid X bootstrap (red skull looking thing). Then trying again. Thanks
Always make a nandroid backup before you wipe your phone or flash a new ROM.

Those backup files can taken from your SD card and put your computer or external hard drive for further security as well.

The last thing you want is having no way to go back to your last functional system settings.

To copy the SD card to the computer HD? Is this a matter of creating a folder, and select all, copy, past?

To restore is the process opposite? That is without creating a separate folder?

If you connect your phone to your computer, you'll see a folder with a date on it (year first).

Copy that to your hard drive on your computer. If you just copy (don't cut) then it will stay on your phone's SD card. Then you can use Bootstrap to recover from that file on your SD card. If you delete the file off your SD card, you'll need to move it from your computer's hard drive back onto your SD card, then use Bootstrap to recover from there.

How's your battery life with gummy? First full day went from 100% to 30% in less than 12 hours. That is stock cpu with low voltage. On apex I got over a day with a full battery. Things open fast but its killing my battery more.

original response at Rubix vs Gummy thread..

" (following you again, aren't I) LOL.... Yeah the same here. With Apex I was getting 14 plus hours easy and with Gummy I was getting 10 hours before hitting 10 percent. DvadeR suggested that I turn my Auto brightness settings off and to set the display somewhere below 30%, (I just set mine to 30%) I also had the services.jar hack. I did the above mentioned and got rid of the hack. and that seems to be helping a lot right now. I'm at 10.5 hours since boot with 30% battery life left so it seems to be heading back to that 14 hour plus window again. Tomorrow I'll be underclocking the phone and hoping that this will help even more. If you find anything else that might help TnT please let me know. "

Yep all I had to do was install bootstrap. Thanks guys for the help. I just have one other problem. When i get my comcast emails it alerts me that I have one, then I drag down the top tab and see I have 8 unread emails. So I go into my email folder and the only ones in there are the ones I had before I did my Rom change. Cant find the new ones. Any suggestions? Thanks again tnt.

Dude just after that post it flashed red at 5%. I put the phone down and in five minutes it beeped and shut off. First time I ever had it turn off and die. O and I always keep brightness down to 0.

guys, i dont think its the ROM. i've had the best battery life to date with this ROM. if i'm on WIFI all day, the battery barely moves. at 8PM I'm still at 80% with 32% display. I was on 3G most of the day today and after 15hrs i'm at 40%.

edit: i also dont overclock or underclock. that may be the difference. try this ROM w/o these changes.

Flashed back to apex. Needed some blur back anyway. It was a good run.

w30471@il93lnxdroid08 #1

build number:

Baseband is the radio

Hey bro, I have the exact same baseband, kernel etc as you. Not a single difference. Do you have a lot of apps? What is your memory like during the day?

I also have great battery life with GJ 2.5
I took it off the charger at around 11am and it's 2:20am now and i'm down to 60%

My phone didn't like the rom I guess. Never seen a phone go from 30% to power off in 5 minutes. I may give it a run again sometime but missed my apex battery life.

And you did wipe data and cache right?

That's a silly question. Yes I actually did it twice. Maybe it was all the streaming porn.... don't judge me. No really I used it like any other day.

I used this ROM yesterday but didn't notice any adverse affects on my battery life. I decided not to keep it, but battery life didn't sway my opinion. If you enjoy a totally blurless experience, this ROM seems great. It's just not for me.
