Had the S3 for 45 days. Took it back. Now I have a real phone.

I've had MAJOR problems with the S3 "Swype" feature. It's not really true Swype, just Samsung's version. I got so frustrated with it, and was astounded at how ludacris some of the auto corrections were. Then I got SwiftKey and it is better on the S3 for me than any other device I have tried it on. VERY happy with it now, and it made the S3 feel that much better for me. Zero lag. With 2GB of Ram and the processor that they used, there should be no lag with something like texting. If there is, clearly you received a poor unit and need to tell someone so they can make it right. No sense in waiting 45 days and festering your anger and then saying the phone sucks. Help these manufacturers to help you. Speak up if there's a problem so you can improve the experience and get an accurate opinion of a device.

The S3 definitely is not laggy. No more laggy than the Evo LTE. Both are great devices. My preference is the evo though.

i have the s3 a nd the battery life is wonderful. use data constantly all day and getting around 7 hrs before plugging it in for a short time. it charges really quick. what was your standard 2 days?

For what it's worth, I get (on average) two days out of a full charge on my Evo 4g LTE so that's exactly what I'D be expecting out of another phone that claims to have a decent battery. That typically includes a bunch of texting, several phone calls, mild MLB At Bat app use, ~30 minutes of Endomondo gps tracking, Kindle reading, some pictures, and random activity (Facebook/Engadget/Flipboard/etc). If I decide to play games on it for any significant length of time, cut that down to about 24 hours on a charge. The point is, if I were only getting 7-10 hours on a charge, I'd be kinda pissed, unless the screen was on for almost that entire time.

The gs3 I looked at at the sprint store was a laggy mess! And imho very cheap feeling! I agree with the op, my EVO 4G LTE rocks! Also side by side the EVO screen is 10 times better! The pentile screen on the Sammy is god-aweful!

Demo phones are abused and have demo software that lags them. I would never judge by a demo phone

I would disagree that the screen on the S3 is awful. The Evo might have a better screen for some, but the S3 is sharp and beautiful. We can debate processors, RAM, stuff like that. But we can't really debate things that are total preference like screen (to some, Pentile looks every bit as good as LCD or Amoled or anything else), battery (everyone's usage is different-widgets, screen brightness, constantly running apps), removeable battery, things like that.

I come from a line of football message boards where anything goes. And I thought I was being quite friendly considering... I probably wont post here much from now on, not my type of crowd. I just wanted to share my experience with who I thought were a bunch of EvoLTE lovers but clearly I was wrong. Didnt want to start an argument. I deal with enough of that on other forums about real life things. I will continue to browse the threads however for tips or issues with the phone. And if you think what I wrote was 4chan worthy?.. lol clearly you have never actually been to 4chan. And if you've gotten in trouble for less then I suppose this place is a little too Charmin soft for me...

These forums are actually pretty sweet. We have a lot of fun and have great discussions about devices. All forums don't need to allow disrespect and name calling. I admit, I am guilty of these things at times as well, which is why I have received infractions in the past. But all in all, I enjoy the way it's moderated. People are passionate about their devices, and some resort to name calling and then get offended when it's returned. No need for any of that to happen at all.
