Hands on with the V20

Some do -- some don't. Most people I know parley got new batteries or spares.

It might depend on usage. I currently carry a spare battery and a portable charger. Had I gone to DragonCon this year, a phone without a spare battery would not be an option.

Well it could be (battery pack) -- just depends on if you're cool carrying it around. I have gone to places and just throw it in my back pocket and plug it in.

Not always an option. It's bulky, but works great. And outlets at DragonCon are more scarce and sacred than seats.

Oh yeah outlets sure. The pack I have fits in the back pocket easily. Not saying everyone will agree but it is possible.

That's the thing i can't get use to is having to carry around an extra battery and or charger. I did it with my current Nexus 5 before the port broke. Carrying around extra crap just to make sure my phone lasts all day is a crappy feeling lol.

I can appreciate that, but my situation kind of demands it. I'm on my feet for 8 hours straight and then off to the gym for about an hour. My phone would never make it through that

To me if the phone has all these amazing camera features for stills and video people like me want to actually use the phone. If the 3200mAh battery holds up fine but if it's in the same ballpark of the V10 I guess we'll have to wait for a battery extension from a third party. That's one of the benefits of having removable back even though they manage to make battery extenders for sealed battery phones as well. In this case the V20 or any phone with removable back is slightly modular in a sense.

I'm very content with the phone, it's very specific audio and camera wise, there isn't any other brand that offers anything similar (Zte axon 7 maybe). I just got a feeling that this DAC will Drain this battery pretty fast. Again, other than battery no complaints so far.

I have the V10 and like everything about it except battery life.
This V20 is so blah and offers no reason to change and will likely lead me to keep my V10 until the next Note in 2017.
The V10 is gorgeous with the contrasting stainless steel rails and military grade constuction. The V20 looks like every other phone without adding many significant improvements.
My one true V10 issue was battery and that is less than 10% larger.
LG is practically giving away spare batteries and chargers for V10 (I got the first free with puchase) so I have one in my house and car so I never have to carry in my pocket.
Sorry but the V20 does nothing for me.

As far as the removable battery option.

If you're shooting a lot of videos for, say, a YouTube video, there really is no better option than to swap in a fresh battery. What do you think people do who primarily use a dslr for their YouTube channels when their camera battery runs out? Wait for their camera to recharge while plugged into a wall?

I, too, would've liked to have seen at least a 3500-3800 mah battery. But the fact that it's removable and they didn't go the way of non removable batteries makes this a beast for media consumption and recording.

I have used an iPhone 6 plus and my LG G4 to shoot YouTube videos and there's nothing worse than having your battery die while shooting a series of videos and then having to wait for your phone to recharge. As good as an iPhone camera is, it's not for the serious video producer.

I'm not an expert by any means, but in my honest opinion, the V20 comes about as close as you can get to professional level photography and videography.

For those who can't afford an expensive camera and a cell phone, the V20 is a very good alternative. You can easily produce high quality video content on a cell phone these days.

As strictly a cell phone, sure there are better options out there, but for the person who is looking to get great photos and videos from a cell phone, I don't see a better option.

My only concern is that LG has taken care that this doesn't see the same fate as a lot of the G4's and the dreaded boot loop. Mine is still going strong. If it does happen to suffer the same fate as a lot of other G4's, it may make me lose all confidence in LG.

I don't agree, Android is becoming more efficient with Nougat. The V10 sucked because of the 808 and Lollipop.

Weight of battery usage:

Display (V20 has two more power hungry than AMOLED, LCD displays)
Radios (mainly LTE)
GPU
CPU

The OS is not really going to gain much as proven with Marshmallow that was supposed to be 30% to 50% better based on Android team false hype. The hardware is the main driver, so betting battery life will be a nominal improvement.

The wild card is LTE, since if in a 105 dBm signal area or higher while using data, the LTE radio can use more battery than the display.

There's no way any phone comes close to pro photography or video....it just isn't happening.
I'm not saying that phones don't take great pictures but its not even close especially on the hands of someone who is truly skilled.

When pros choose to use the phone, then the phone is taking pro video or photos.

We change our definitions all the time in this world.

Then there's also the old saying, "the best camera is the one you had ready to take the photo".

The statement I was referencing in my comments was about the V20 coming close to professional quality. Simply not true. See below.

I'm actually liking what I'm seeing with this phone. My only issues are light bleed and the bootloop issue. If those are taken care of, then I may be in the market for one. Especially if I can get an unlocked one.

Bootlooping doesn't usually show up right away so those of us that plan on buying one soon have no way of knowing if it's resolved. Won't stop me from buying it but it's a point of concern. I'm also hoping that it has a stable GPS.

Yeah, I have read that GPS was an issue on some G5s. This is what I hate about Android, great phones but we're already worried about issues before they even come out. This looks like pretty much a perfect phone for me, but hate having to worry about such potential issues.
