I am taking a few classes and did not want to lug around a notebook and book. I like handwriting notes because they are quicker than typing equations and they are saved and harder to misplace. How is the hand writing recognition on this tablet. I have poor handwriting and my experience in the past is you write slowly so the tablet won't keep up with the class and even good handwriting won't get translated properly. Is that not true on this one? I just want to hear from owners and see if this one is worth it or should I look at a surface pro 2 or dare I say iPad air since those of keyboard attachments and maybe better handwriting recognition software?

It recognizes my handwriting when I don't recognize my own writing! I've commented on this over and over again since getting this tab in Dec. I can't believe how sloppy I can write and it still get's it right. I'm not saying it never gets it wrong but 90%+ it's correct.

If you're using S Note, you can take handwritten notes during class and convert to text later, when you have more time.

Bought note 3 last week and it's great. However I am desperate to find an app that allows me to write on the full page, and for it to be automatically recognised as I go along. So far I've used S note, but you have to draw a box round the text then tell it to recognise. It recognises the text EXACTLY as it's written. In other words it retains the number of lines and presumably implied carriage returns. I notice that S note on the 7 inch or 8 inch tablet does what I'm after - you write, wait a second, and it recognises and adds your words to the line that's already written. Do any apps do that on the Galaxy note 3? I don't like writing in a letter box. I have seen a vid on youtube where a guy seems to do this (possibly on an older Note) but can't find that video again. Any help?

Myscript Notes Mobile has this function, but I am not sure if the note 3 is a supported device yet. (note 2 is supported)
