I currently have my N7 in a Fintie case all nice and snug, but it's just vinyl over cardboard I think, nice looking case though. The N& in that case which is then put into a neoprene case when not in use. I'm very careful with it and all, but have read so many stories about the N7 falling apart and screen cracking in not just accidental drops even on carpet, but also screens cracking on their own supposedly. In case the unthinkable happens even a small drop even on carpet I'm thinking of getting a hard case for it. So far I have found the following:
Amazon.com: Hard Shell Snug Fit Google Nexus 7 Tablet Carrying Case Cover with Google Play-Black: Computers & Accessories
Amazon.com: CaseCrown Hard Shell Case for Google Nexus 7 Tablet-(Black): Computers & Accessories
Amazon.com: Google Nexus Tablet (7 Inch Tablet) Black EVA Hard Shell Case with Internal compartment pockets for extra Memory Cards and Other Small Accessories. Includes NuVur ? keychain. (KNDLEVA1): Everything Else
I like the third one the best I think
Then there are these:

What do you guys think? Any of these any good?

to each his own but I've removed my N7 from the i-blason case because it makes for a much heavier ensemble. If I break my N7, I'll just buy another one--I don't want all that extra weight! It would cost me over $600 to replace my phone (with a current flagship phone) if I break my Bionic, and the N7 is only $250 so it's not a big deal, IMO.

I'm happy with my i-Blason case for my N7. Yes, I agree it's a much nicer experience with a naked device. Unfortunately for me I certainly don't have a disposable $250 to spend, not if but when I drop my N7. I have dropped my Galaxy Nexus phone a couple of times (and I am very careful with it) and was glad it was in a protective case. I like keeping my devices in pristine condition so it's a case for me....
Edit: just wanted to add I also like the ability to view in landscape mode (hands free) with my case when I'm using a mouse/keyboard with it.

I'd much rather have the extra weight, if you can call it that. I don't know when 1 gram became too much extra weight. I'm also not a wall street banker and can not afford to run out and buy $250 items any day of the week, so for me, precaution is worth a pound of cure.

The case weighs more than a gram! Sheesh.

Ok, I'll give ya that one *chuckle* Still, it doesn't weigh all that much. For me personally, I would not care if it was 10 lbs as long as it adds measurable protection to such a delicate device, it's worth it to me. Of course, I note that perhaps we are not taking into account personal use habits here. Maybe for you having a case presents an impediment to the way you use the N7, which is understandable (I've seen cases I would not want). Where as for me, it's not an issue to how I use it. Plus, for me as I stated, the tablet is an investment because I have no disposable money, so everything I buy is carefully weighed as best I can because I know I can not replace it should something happen.

That's not really a 'hard shell' case.
I got one that looked like that, but it must have come from one of the 'bad' sweatshops in China. I had to send it back.
The cover was stitched to the hinge crooked, and the 'magnet' was just a non-magatized metal disk on the back cover instead of the front.
Also, the stitching on the hand strap contacts the screen when closed and put marks into my screen protector.
It's supposed to protect it not damage it. - FAIL!

Yea, I read a few reviews that some were getting defective ones, but they were all able to get replacements. I don't have a screen protector as I've never had good experiences with them. I know its not a hard shell but I really like the way the case holds the 7, stylus, and hand strap. Think I'd go crazy without it. :what:
