Has any one able to cast 720p video quality

Yes. I think it has more to do with the computer than the router. I have a cheap $350 laptop with ivy bridge i3 onboard intel graphic that could stream 720p tab perfectly with 0 lag. My $1200 i7 sandybridge with discrete graphic can stream 720p but every once in a while it will have to catch up but it is still watchable. And then I have a mid range $600 laptop with an AMD processor and it won't even do 480p.

I can without any issue. My PC is a high end gaming (self built) though.. If that makes any difference.

I can stream 720P on a $45 TP-Link wireless AP. I think that it has more to do with the PC. I can't stream anything from my netbook, but my first gen i7 laptop seems to handle things without problem.

It is really a bit of both. The comp needs to be fairly decent. And what ever the connectivity is it needs to be reliable. Probably at least a 2x2 wifi card and router (300mbps). I would expect better reliability from a wired device then wifi. It is just to easy to have the bandwith go up and down like a yoyo on wifi. Especially with more devices on the network.

That is the exact reason I wired my HTPC instead of wifi. The connection doesn't just need to be fast but the card has to be able to sustain it.

And I stream on the extreme 720p setting with a older 6 core phenom 2 and a ATI 4870. The system doesn't even flinch at it.
