Dropped today on concrete steps at work while pulling out of pocket. It is cased in a cheap Truvia case and a tempered mime. No evidence of the drop and slide down a step or 2. Yay!

No and I don't plan too. LOL
I also don't have a case, just a screen protector.
Any good recommendations for a screen protector?

Sorry for the late reply...
I've been using Ultra Clear Super Shieldz on my previous and current phone Note 3 & G2, 3-6 for $10 on eBay. No complaints.
i dropped mine and broke the screen and had the bestbuy insurance at the time , but oh my surprise , took it to the nearest best buy waited 5 days so i decided to go see whats up so the guy then told me that i had to pay 150 because their geek squad protection plan policy changed and the phone is very expensive so i went back to the bestbuy where i purchased the phone and i told the manager that the guys that sold me the phone in the store never told me about paying any fee other then the monthly charge and i used to have the insurance with my note 2 where you can just bring in the phone and they will replace it or fix it for free , so manager waived the 150 but i still had to wait 5 more days , they offered me a new one cause they didnt have any refurbished to give me
Cool. Have you had to have the battery replaced or anything?Still rocking my 2nd gen 64gb zune.

No one drops their phone on purpose (while sober anyways). A case is just a little insurance against damage in the event of an accident.Mine slipped off my lap onto a carpeted floor the other day. No damage or anything. I have a screen protector, but no case. I am considering case options though, because a little extra protection would be nice. In the meantime, I'm being more careful with how I put the phone on my lap when sitting and there's no other convenient location to stash it. (It seems like leaning it against my stomach is fairly stable, and better than resting it flat on my thigh, especially since I tend to change leg positions when sitting for a while.)
Filed an Asurion claim (I'm with Sprint), last Monday. Just got off the phone with them. They are now quoting me 7 to 10 business days from today, before I will receive my replacement. I pay $11/month ($254.00 over a 2 year period) AND a deductible of $200 per claim. I'm seriously thinking it's not worth it.
