Has anyone else shattered their s6 edge screen yet? So sad . . .

Square trade rocks! They let my friend get it fixed at the Apple store and reimbursed him by check. His phone never left his sight! It's not $5 a month like it was a month ago for me. It's now $8 a month but the replacement fee is only $75 if it can't be fixed. Do Square trade online. It's so easy even a Caveman can do it! In a couple weeks make a claim. Your lucky it's still usable. Easy peasy

Stop with the complaining about fraud already. If companies like square trade were concerned about it they would require proof of the condition before insurance something. Believe me they are not worried because they still make a profit off of you regardless if you make a claim or not. Get over yourself people.

engage your brain and think about what you are saying there

Ya can't. You have to do it at purchase. You can always cancel insurance, but you can't add it later.

"I'm not trying to be a **** so don't get offended by this, it's just my first reaction. Ahem. You're stupid for not getting insurance on an expensive phone." You're funny :)

Anyway, dude I'm so sorry. I vote for "sell it for a loss and get a new one". I don't see any other choice. Repair shops are really great at fixing iphones, but they couldn't fix my old S5 properly, and that didn't even have a curved screen. Cut your losses and never make the same mistake again.

Some more free advice: Next time someone needs a flashlight, hold the phone yourself. And don't leave it on a counter where a cat can knock it off. And don't leave it on a patio chair where a child can run into it with a bike. Ask me how I know this! lol. Yes I finally wized up and got insurance on my Edge when I bought it, I'm extremely choosy about where I put it down, and I try not to hand it to people. I'm trying to always remind myself: "This is a $900 computer. Do I really want to put it there/hand it to that person?" Remember, while it's certainly better to have insurance and be able to get it replaced, the replacement won't be a brand new phone, but will be a refurbished one that might have god-only-knows-what wrong with it.

Straight up lies. I walked into Verizon with my iPhone 6 Plus and got insurance on it a month after buying it through them. The phone just needs to have nothing wrong with it when you get insurance.

On the one hand, you're a Lions fan, and so am I, so I feel your pain. On the other hand, you're insane if you think that Square Trade and Asurion don't care. They don't in the sense that they just keep passing on the cost to the customer. But there's a reason beyond inflation that the cost of the insurance and the cost of deductibles keep going up. It's not just because devices are more expensive...it's because there's little penalty to committing fraud.

I'm not going to preach. People are going to do what they do and I understand that shelling out $700 is not an option for some people. But let's not call this a victim-less issue. We ALL pay for it.

Did you read the thread? Most carriers either have a 30 day or 14 day window to put on insurance. At the time of the post the OP was past 30 days. Therefore the OP would be lucky of the carrier would allow insurance to be added. No lies whatsoever.

If you got it after 30 days then you are lucky.

OH MAN - Tough Noogies! :'(
It's all been said! We hate to pay for insurance until we need it. :-$:-$:-$

Remarkable that I actually just read that.

Samsung has their own extended warranty that you can buy for $130. 15 days later you can make a claim for $75 I believe. I think you have 30 days to get it after purchase. So for a couple of hundred bucks you can breathe again. Good luck.

I didn't even walk into verizon I just called them on the phone . Said I would like to add insurance to my s6 and they said ok . They didn't need to see the phone or anything. As long as it was within 30 days of purchase .

You can repair it yourself but it's not for the faint of heart. The back glass is glued to the frame so a heat gun or blow dryer is needed.
Good luck - not inexpensive to fix.

To hell with these corporations and their over priced crap, the lies and criminal **** they are involved in far out weigh any added insurance to a broken phone. If a local company can offer unlimited internet and calling/texting for $35 a month why in the hell does Verizon charge $40 just for the calling/texting and $10 per phone on the account. **** you and **** them, they are real criminals

U mentioned the Crack is barely visible when you power on the screen. So put a screen protector on it and use it like that.

i would straight up call my phone carrier and add insurance as if nothing is wrong. wait my 30 days this file my claim. I could care less about the moral thing to do with a cell phone company. These are the same companies who used to make 100% profit off us by making us pay for text messaging

My first S6 Edge dropped on rubber matt in my truck (8 days after i purchased it)the screen shattered. TMOBILE insurance sent me a new one for the $175 deductible. Three days after receiving the new one, I had it in my pocket and when I pulled it out the screen and camera were cracked. I had some change and 2 keys in the pocket and had not hit it.Since I had already had 2 claims the insurance wouldn't cover. TMOBILE was nice enough to send me another for the 175 deductible I would have paid since I had been with them since 1994. The rep told me that she wouldn't buy one because she had seen too many of the screens and camera's crackmaster in people's pockets. I upgraded to the Note the day I received the new one. Glass is too fragile. I have owned dozens of phones and the s6edge is the only screen (times 2)that I have broken.

Actually insurance was not available on this phone when I purchased it. Having just developed a crack on the edge I looked into the possibility of repair or replacement, no repair is available but the screen can be replaced for approx $275-300, if you can find someone in your area who will do it.

So I was at my sister's house the other day, and my 12 y.o. niece asked if anyone had a flashlight (she had dropped a small piece of one of her toys under the table.) I switched on the flashlight app on my s6 edge and handed it to her, being the good uncle that I am. Soon enough I heard her say "I found it!" and she went to give me my phone back. It slipped out of her hand, and that probably would have been fine, but she tried to snap-catch it before it hit the floor and ended up slinging it directly into the brick mantle next to us. Everyone kind of gasped.

My little niece cringed and said sorry, then picked it up and handed it to me. I took a quick glance and thought "what a tough phone this is" before I noticed that the screen had in fact shattered. Tiny spiderweb cracks all over the screen. It still works fine and I don't even notice the cracks when the screen is on. But I need to get it fixed.

This is my 4th? smartphone and the first one I've had with a cracked screen. I didn't buy any kind of insurance when I got it. What are the options? Any idea on what it will cost? Some of the local cell repair places list prices for repairing certain phones, but none seem to have the s6 series on their list yet.

Any advice? :'(

I can fix it for $90 replace the glass only
And $ 220 glass+Lcd screen
