AC Question

I just purchased the Galaxy S8 phone through sprint and I have a 2016 Chevy Malibu equipped with the Chevy my link infotainment system. It allows for android auto, however when I attempt to connect the phone it does not recognize the android auto device. Has anyone had the same problem?

sorry, I installed the app Android Auto on the phone first, then went to the car and plugged it in. Originally I was following the instructions I had to plug it into the car first, let it detect & install sync etc, no luck. Sit in your house, install the Android Auto app FIRST, then go & plug it into the car :)

Android Auto was already installed on my phone the first time. The car just didn't seem to detect the phone through the USB connection. But I setup the Bluetooth connection and then tried again the next day and it detected and connected fine the second time around. Not really sure why. Maybe the usb-c adapter wasn't properly seated the first time.

I just switched to the s8 from the s7 and it didn't work on the 2017 chevy my link.
Solved it by doing bluetooth scan from My Link and from s8. They found each other, paired and now it works Flawless.

The only problem I seem to be having is that my text messages do not pop up on the AA screen on the head unit. Everything else works great aside from this function which is the 2nd most important reason why I upgraded head units. Any ideas as to why? I'm running a Kenwood DDX9703s and a GS8. I'm wondering if my messaging app is not compatible for whatever reason. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I also have the S8 and have been trying to get Pandora to work with my 2017 Honda HRV. After trying almost everything I switched my car audio to Bluetooth input for Pandora to work, then once it starts playing I then went back and selected Pandora. I no longer have to do that, Pandora starts up and plays fine now. The issue I am having is that if the screen times out and I want to change the Pandora channel it gives me the no data message. How do I get Pandora to keep playing. I also cannot get the S8 to pair with my mirrorlink.

I used android auto in my 2017 VW Passat with my S4, purchased the S8+ and although it allowed me to program a destination it lagged so it was useless I was using the cable that came with the s8+. I switched back to the old cable putting the adapter on the end and it works fine. the old cable is a thicker cable. I not at all savy about this stuff but maybe the cable is an issue for lots of folks I did take it to VW service and they said the first thing that usually is a problem is the cable. good luck

I cannot even get started. I have an S8 and recently bought a subaru legacy 2020. The car and phone will not connect. I just get a message that device is not compatible. Tried restarting, reinstalling, updating OS software, different cables. Another newer android phone did not work, but dealer's android did. iPhones work perfect. Phone connects with bluetooth perfect, but can't use AA through bluetooth. Anyone else with this issue? Any help? (My entire Google play music library was deleted through this process also!)
